IMP non-profit financing idea

Anyone (IMP board members, in particular) want to talk about IMP with an

attorney who specializes in non-profits?

I have the opportunity to meet with an attorney who travels all over the country

to start and assist non-profits; he specializes in it.

There was some discussion a month or two ago about trying to extend the IMP

non-profit to health care financing. I think the idea was to see if we could do

the Robin Hood model (Bob Forester's concept) across a nationwide network of

IMPs, where benefactors could help support recipients.

My husband discussed it with his friend, who is an attorney, and he told his

boss, who is the non-profit expert. They are both very interested in hearing

what we're doing and our ideas to expand the concept. Wouldn't it be great to

have another way to ditch insurance, help cover the uninsured, and actually make

a decent living?

Has anyone thought about this? Have you all on the board discussed it? I'm sure

there are huge legal challenges to operating a non-profit nationwide, but this

guy does this full-time. He wants to meet with me soon, so I'd like to know if

this would be helpful, and what thoughts you have. If you on the board would

like to get in touch with him for any other legal help, I can arrange it. I'm

not a legal scholar, but it is interesting to brainstorm ideas. The current

system is such a mess we definitely need to be thinking outside the box! Thanks

for your input.
