I exerienced sudden hearing loss in one ear too . . .

A neurologist who spoke to our Fort Worth Support

group in about 1994 noticed that implanted women were

reporting sudden hearing loss and asked for a show of

hands if women had been experiencing hearing problems

.. . . At least 10% of the group held up their hand.

The woman sitting next to me experienced sudden

hearing loss in one ear while on the telephone.

Fortunately part of my hearing returned after a round

of steriods. Hers never returned.

Unfortunately, the New York Times tried to shatter

this doctor's reputation and, to save his career,

stopped seeing implant women. He was getting very good

results by recommending many of the same things we

recommend here . . . diet, sleep, exercise, stress and

anger management, etc. He went very easy on

medications.

I'm terribly sorry you've had so many problems! . . .

What have you been doing to get better? . . . Have you

seen our recommended detox programs? Regardless of

what diagnoses you have, you should start seeing

improvement soon.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

I just read your post and wanted to respond, especially about the

hearing loss. I also lost total hearing in my right ear from

Vancomycin, after having problems with it a few months earlier when

the docs had me on it, outpatient IV. I was put on it again in the

hospital, as a " precaution " , and that's when I lost hearing from

it. I never should've been given that drug again after having so

much trouble with it but I couldn't find a lawyer to take my case.

I guess the doctors and lawyers stick together and it's hard to

prove malpractice. That all happened in '93 but I remember it

clearly, especially the way the Vancomycin felt going into my veins,

like it was burning them up.

Just a short history of what I've been through.....I've had A LOT

(at least 30 in the past 15-20 years) of surgeries, with implants,

to reconstruct a deformed left side due to a birth defect. I've had

infections and complications, one after the other, and I'm now on SS

Disability with fibromyalgia, at the age of 45. I have almost every

one of the same diagnoses you listed and I just wanted you to know

you're not alone. So far, I haven't had any major stomach or colon

problems but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up needing a new liver

someday because of all the pain meds I have to take.

Feel free to vent anytime. We'll all listen.
