Folks,

As many of you know I am a hockey coach and official and take the kids' safety very seriously. I just wanted to pass this interesting article along about traumatic head, brain injuries and potential ALS like symptoms later in life related to head trauma as opposed to some other internal, external or genetic disease like state...

Oh and if you have any skaters in your practice remind them to wear their mouth pieces (brain pillows) properly and properly fitted I might add, and strongly suggest that they consider the purchase of Cascade Brand Hockey Helmet, now the model M11 I believe. Their helmets are probably the best anti-concussion designed units on the market and they take their research into proper protection very seriously. Our helmets have been the same lame design of a layer of foam glued onto a plastic shell for at least 40 years now with little if any improvements in all those years. Cascade has has an entirely different approach to this that you can go see yourself on their website... And best of all, unlike almost every other piece of sports gear on the market today, especially the Nike brand stuff, that is made in Asia somewhere, these Helmets are made right here in the good ol US of A!!! And believe it or not, right here across the street

from our office in Liverpool NY, suburb of Syracuse. So while doing players and kids a huge favor and helping to better protect them you are also support good jobs right here at home... It's a real win, win situation...

So buckle up and wear your brain bucket properly fitted....
