Guest guest
Thank you Patty. When I first became really ill, violently ill, it was just after my son was born. I couldn't eat anything! I was diagnosed with an ulcer and severe IBS and put on Prevacid etc. I remember that I ate one french fry with a bit of chili and cheese on it from a friends lunch and I was on the couch doubled over crying for hte next 4 hours. It went on like that for almost a year. The medicines made me feel worse and the doctors did nothing helpful. I survived on tagamet and immodium. Then I stopped eating... I mean seriously I stopped eating nearly every food immaginable. I was on the BRATT diet and that was it for what seemed like months. Very slowly I reintroduced things into my diet with much improvement. Then when I became pregnant with my first daughter I craved protien and started eating meats again. I was able to tolerate most foods by then and returned to a normal diet. Since the birth of my second daughter 4 years ago my gut seems to have slowly gotten worse again, however I have made progress. I am now keenly aware of what my reaction to the supplements are. For instance, I was taking primal defense at bedtime with my multi every night for months. I realized that I was having upset stomach every night and switched the primal to first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and not one tummy ache since. I have also noticed tat if I miss even 24 hours of the supplements then I am likely to have the diarrhea. If I take the acidophilus with meals it totally prevents the diarrhea and even backs me up a little. Then about once every week or two I seem to have an episode. I have figured out that this last one was from the milk, by the way I tolerate all other dairy just fine, it is only liquid milk. The episode before that I think was from taking the perfect food supplement on an empty stomach. So I am figuring out how to manage it and overall it is better, but I get frustrated when I have a spell. For a long time I would get seriously ill if I ate food that had a lot of garlic in it. I couldn't figure out why, but knew that I needed to avoid it. Now I know it was because of the candida! I think I was seriously overrun with it! I am even now better able t eat garlic and have started including it slowly into my diet again. But now I also understand why I would feel so ill from it. Forgive me for writing a book, but I wanted to show that I have had this pattern and have dealt with it for a long time. I honestly am doing so much better than I was pre-explant, I just need to continue to work at it. Maybe one y I will be " normal " like Jordan Rubin. By the way I am half way through Maker's Diet and the library has Patient Heal Thyself on hold for me. Many hugs all around,
