I have vertigo. For awhile I thought it was adrenals, but now I'm thinking

it may be the low ferritin. I get it mostly in the late afternoon and/or

evening, along with heart palps.

With the combo of drugs you are taking I would suspect it may be related

to either withdrawals from the one or een moving the dose of the other.

It is unlikley ot be from HC or Thyroid iunless oyur blood pressure is

dropping too much. Have you checked it recently?

Discontinuation of Treatment with Cymbalta — Discontinuation symptoms

have been systematically evaluated in patients taking Cymbalta.

Following abrupt discontinuation in MDD placebo-controlled clinical

rate greater than or equal to 2% and at a significantly higher rate in

spontaneous reports of adverse events occurring upon discontinuation

anxiety, confusion, headache, lethargy, emotional lability, insomnia,

hypomania, tinnitus, and seizures. Although these events are generally

self-limiting, some have been reported to be severe. Patients should

be monitored for these symptoms when discontinuing treatment with

Cymbalta. A gradual reduction in the dose rather than abrupt cessation

is recommended whenever possible. If intolerable symptoms occur

following a decrease in the dose or upon discontinuation of treatment,

then resuming the previously prescribed dose may be considered.

Subsequently, the physician may continue decreasing the dose but at a

more gradual rate (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).

I have vertigo as well. It happens whenever. I was

lying in bed once, and it felt like I was being turned

upside down. I also get it sometimes while I am

driving; and I end up grabbing the steering wheel and

sort of feel like I have to duck. weird eh?

Pamela,

I take effexor too. I tried to stop once and it was

horrible. it was the worst feeling in my head. i was

dizzy, extremely so, and it felt like i was getting

these tiny shocks in my head and ears.

maybe it has something to do with taking the effexor

at night. doesn't that keep you awake?

No, actually I was taking the cymbalta at night and the effexor in the day, because I though the same. After stopping the cymbalta I noticed I still felt this overwhelming tiredness... seriously, like a zombie... I could not snap out of it. That is what made me think to try Effexor during the night. ( I also read on site that it can make you sleepy) and while I take clonopin (because of permanent back injuries, premature osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and constant pain) to sleep I still need all the help I can get and it actually is making me sleep better... Me too!!! I don't drive if I feel dizzy (which is most of the time)... I was diagnosed with Minear's disease, but the severe symptoms subsided. This vertigo has just returned with my med change... so I do hope it is temporary. I will tell you that one thing that helped my vertigo is diuretics... I found all natural ones vs. the prescription (for 2 of the strongest) the doctor was giving me. It made it pretty much go away. The product is called "Water X" you can also get Asparagus extract which I am going to go get today... Remember just because you retain water does not mean to stop drinking water... if anything you need more... but the above products definately helped me, because vertigo is a horrible thing to deal with... I didn't have it at first. I switched from .150 mg Synthroid to 2 grains of Armour. As time went on my dizziness grew. It was about 6 weeks into it that I got really bad. I ended up upping my dose to 3 grains from 2 1/2. I was at 2 grains the end of Jan and then upped to 2 1/2 the third week of February. Went to 3 grains the 2nd week of Mar and just upped to 3 1/2 a week ago. I am finally feeling vertigo free.

I have been taking wellbutrin and clonopin now for 5

years. two years ago, when I got sick, (and

depressed) my doctor added the effexor. I thought the

effexor was making me gain weight. I was only on

75mg, and I would take 75 then 37.5 the next day and

then 75 and then 37.5nfor two days... to weanmyself

off. then it was 37.5 everyday, then everyt other

day. i got such ringing in the ears as well as the

other stuff i said. I have tinnitus and it really

gets bad at night.

wonder why that is.

I experience dizziness frequently, I always have to have Dramamine with me, because it helps with the vertigo and with the nausea that comes with it. I have not proof, but I think mine may be allergy related, because often if I take claritin it will help get rid of the dizziness. I think maybe there is some fluid that builds up and presses against the ears. I went to doctors to try to figure it out, but after many CAT scans and MRIs they couldn't figure it out...( what's new?!) so, as with most things, it is a process of trial and error, to see what works..... I'm not new to armour, but today is my first day taking

horticortisone. After taking my first dose, 5 mg after eating

breakfast, I have been sort of dizzy since. I took my next dose, 5

mg, at 12:45p.m. and I am still woozy. I also take 4 grains of

armour. My pressure reading before the morning dose was 164/63,

pulse 74 at 4:45a.m. this morning(I think this was because I ate

unsalted chips and had a glass of wine late last night); at 10a.m.,

after taking horticortisone after breakfast, my pressure 139/61,

pulse; after lunch today at 12:45p.m. my pulse is 125/66, pulse 78.

Right now I feel slightly sluggish. So, I think that I am reacting

to the horticortisone because I never felt this way before, even when

I took Isoscort. Hopefully, this will subside.

I thought the blood pressure danger with hydrocortisone was in

elevation not lowering. Very confusing. Hope Val, or someone will

clear this up.

Yes... the Isocort had no reaction, but it is not the "hard" stuff like hydrocort... ; ) As of this morning I am not as dizzy... I hope it is subsiding... Blood pressure often fluctuated throughout the day. HC will RAISE blood

pressure if you take too much for what you need. It does NOT lower it.

going down on introduction of hydrocortisone. Are you attributing that
