So it is alright for any person here to post their personal faith

system? If so, I will get cracking on a variety of posts for my

personal diety views.

Never made any sense to me why evangelical Xian writings dominate

this space dedicated (as the header for the group states) to

informing women suffering the effects of saline (and silicone filled)

implants.

I strongly believe that faith is an important part of our healing,

and that God is our source for everything. This group is about

sharing love, encouragement, hope, and all of these are part of the

Judeo-Christian ethic of " loving your neighbor as thyself. " The

scriptures are full of wisdom regarding the appropriate pursuit of

healthy relationships and for making sense of a world in chaos.

So, no, this group is NOT a free for all regarding personal deity

views. It is a support system of women loving women who are

suffering, and offering up those things that have been inspirational

to us as we journey forth. I posted what I did about how much God

loves us and how perfect that love is for the sake of women who may

feel unloved at this time in their lives. I truly believe that no

man could ever love us as God loves us, and therein lies perfection

of love. Some women haven't realized that, and for me it was life

changing. I needed to share that.

I have been involved in groups before where religious posts were not

tolerated in any way, shape, or form. I don't feel that is

healthy. Many of us here have a strong faith in God, and I am not

going to squelch that. As I said, it is an important aspect of our

healing. Many of us have to heal spiritually before we can heal

physically.

Please think twice before taking the stance that you are going

to " get cracking on a variety of posts on your personal deity

views. " Of course, that is not the intent of this group. There is a

difference between doing something out of love and doing something

out of selfish ambition.

I am sorry if it never did make any sense to you why so many of us

choose to share our faith here. You'll have to make a decision on

whether or not that is something you can accept about our group or

not.

Let me be clear also: ANYONE who decides they want to use this

forum to start an ugly debate about religion is going to get dumped

fast. I won't tolerate that sort of abuse!

To follow up, I am Jewish. I do not care for the religious tone, either.

However, this forum

does help many women. There are other forums like Implant_Info_Net and

Explantation.Com that are open to other opinions, and do not focus on

evangelical

Christianity. I come here because I can like the women, and appreciate the help

they offer,

and overlook what I don't much care for.

Patty, I want you to know that I truly appreciate your love,

support, and intentions for this forum. But I would like to point

out that while everyone could use spiritual support, especially in

times of health crisis, it does not have to come from Judeo-

Christian sources to be useful or valid. Many of us are not Jewish

or Christian, including myself. There are many ways to worship, or

to be spiritual, or to spiritually uplift others, that do not

include the biblical idea of God. It is wonderful what your beliefs

have done for you! Please do no discount that other beliefs are any

less powerful in achieving the same goals. There is room for us all

to support and uplift in a myriad of ways.

The intent is truly out of love. I have never said anything

negative toward anyone else's opinions; I have never discounted

anyone else's beliefs. If I have, please show me the post! I don't

think you'll find one. I appreciate what you are trying to say.

I think Molly has the best approach.

The key is tolerance toward each other, and that is the ONLY way

that we can stay together in our support group. The first person to

start complaining about what others are writing sets the ball

rolling on a negative course, and that is when it has to get

nipped. If you guys haven't guessed by now, our group has been

successful because we stay positive!

We all have our beliefs, and I only ask that you recognize the

intent of what is shared, and be kind enough to keep anything else

that isn't an encouragement to others to yourself.

Hi,

That has always been a concern for me, as a social worker, that we are all

inclusive, and that often we seem to be pushing one certain religious

agenda. I have always felt that we need to be all-inclusive and tolerant

of all religious beliefs. That is, however, my viewpoint. Others may have

a different viewpoint. But I encourage you to take the help offered and

ignore those parts that do not fit you.

I agree, Lynda. We each must find our own path in this world, and there are

many ways of

finding spiritual fulfillment or healing. For some, it may not be a Christian

God, or a

Jewish God or a Muslim God or...it may not be any God. Some find fulfillment in

meditation, or community involvement. There are many people who believe in

treating

others as you would want to be treated yourself, but who do not believe in God

at all.

I see nothing wrong with sharing one's own experience, as long as there is

tolerance for

others' experiences and beliefs. If we become intolerant of another's beliefs,

we may well

lose a chance to be of service.

Yes, Patty, I believe in God. I don't believe that my conception of God is the

only one, or is

right for everyone else. I know many fine people who don't believe in God at

all.

There are many ways to find fulfillment, and healing in life. A sense of

community -

inclusiveness, as Lynda suggests -- is important. Sharing our experience,

strength and

hope, about what we have gone through with implants, creates that sense of

community.

That is what is valuable about these BI forums.

Exactly, we must always be tolerant. And always remember our Jewish,

Muslim and other women who may not share the beliefs predominate in this

country. If we really think about it, Christianity is not the world's most

dominate religion. We need to be there for everyone who may be having

problems or thinking about implants.

I do disagree with one thing. This is not Patty's forum. She may have

founded it, but she would be the first to say it is the forum for women

affected by implants or wanting information about implants. Let's us not

put her in a bad place with all of this. She has been a shining star for

women who have had problems.

And, ....I dont discount any of the wonderful work that Patty has done. This

forum has

helped many. An individual who creates a forum chooses the direction it takes.

For example, I know a woman who helped found Explantation.com is an evangelical

Christian. However, she decided she did not want discussions of religion to

detract from

the main purpose of that forum -- to help women who were struggling with

implants and

making the decision to explant. I certainly respect that decision.

If Patty has a different philosophy, then we should equally respect that.

Oh my goodness,I haven't been well enough to post or read for several

days and look what i've come back to! with all the dumping members

and christian vs. non-christian stuff, i think i'll settle for merely

lurking rather than actively participate at all.it's so sad to see

Cosima - you came here for help, and we want to help you, and have

enjoyed getting to know you. I hope you will reconsider and

continue to post. I really want to keep in touch with you and find

out what happens with your surgery and support you as you heal.

Things like this happen occasionally on any site where people post

their opinions about things, but the heart of the site are the women

Cosima, I can't tell you how many times I read the " squabbles " here

and thought the same thing, but kept reading...just because. I've

found that tangents are just inevitable. Each of these subtopics

seem to rise up, people snip back and forth a bit and then move on

to the next piece of information that is pertinent. Religion is a

real biggy...much too personal to be let go of quickly, but the

conflicting comments will eventually tone down. I think these are

all intelligent women who realize that the comments are universal

and ageless and in the end we all respect and appreciate the person,

not her private belief system. At some point the discussion will

center around something else. Even if you don't participate, (and I

actually don't very often, just recently I have - for some reason)

don't give up a valuable resouce. That's my opinion, and like

almost everyone else in this forum - I think I'M right. And just

wait to see if I get lambasted for this. It's almost funny. But

Oh my goodness, nobody got dumped! Please, please, this is the

Christmas season. Can we just not be over-reactive? Can we show a

little bit of tolerance and forbearance out of kindness and love

toward one another? My goodness...

It always amazes me that the whole heart of religious expression is

to love one another and be good to others, and yet there are people

who twist it to make it look like a bad and ugly thing....it is NOT!

It is only a bad and ugly thing to those who choose to make it that

way. It's totally a choice you make, and is also revealed through

the words you speak. Sometimes there are just things that are

better left unsaid when they are not said in love.

Through the years there have been many, many women here who written

about the value this group has had to them physcially, spiritually,

mentally, and in a myriad of ways. I've received many letters

privately that confirm that our group has saved their life, that our

kindness and love for one another has been instrumental in their

healing, as well as the practical advice they've gotten for taking

steps to regain health.

But no less important are those letters that I have received from

women that express deep gratitude for the spiritual healing that

they've gone through as a result of this group. I've seen that

enough times to know that it is VITAL to women.

It is my hope that through the letters we share, we will heal not

only from our implant experiences, but experience growth on many

levels, including learning how to interact and respect one another,

and be not only tolerant of one another's feelings and expressions,

but appreciative of them. After all, we are all women going through

a shared experience.

It's not too much to ask , is it??????

I have alot of hope that we can move on and remember just how

special, how valuable, how unique each and every one of us is, and

that we have all made contributions to this group that have been

instrumental in making it a haven for the hurting, a place where we

can come for comfort, hope, encouragement, and renewal. We may not

be able to be all things to all women, but I believe we can make a

huge impact for the good.
