Hello,

I just joined this group and I am not sure if my mother has BPD

or not. She has never had an official diagnosis of BPD but her

behavior has certainly been very irrational and erratic all of my

life. She has been up until the last few years, protected from the

consequences of her actions by my father. Since my dad has been

diagnosed with Alzheimers she has steadily gotten more manipulative

and deceitful. She has in the past faked an increasing number of

illnesses and she exaggerates dads health problemms too. She also

deliberately withholds information. She has a HUGE sense of

entitelment about what is due her and my dad. She has always had a

very volitile temper and flys into " blind Rages " at the drop of a

hat. She cannot tolerate any form of contradiction. She is

addicted to alcohol and sleeping pills. She has never harmed

herself but when I refused to give into her unreasonable demands she

has threatened to stop taking her heart medication.

When I read the book " Understanding the Borderline Mother " I

recognized her personality immediately in " the Queen " chapter.
