Guest guest
That is strange. Usually it is the other way around, but in light of your Pred experience it is possible you need more. 40MG of HC and I get that top of the world feeling too.. LOL But i stay at 30MG so as to not destroy my body for it.All I can offer is to play with the dosage a bit. Guest guest
Actually I'm finding the same thing. I started with Isocort and did well. Switched to HC because I thought I would do even better but it has brought me nothing but trouble. I feel 10x worse than before starting hc AND armour. The symptoms are muscle weakness, no endurance, and aweful sleep. I was on 25mg hc and had to lower it. On 20 now and think I'll lower it to 17.5 and add some isocort back in. Everyone has different cortisol levels to start with and will benefit from varying doses of hc or isocort when taking physiological doses. I think the higher your cortisol levels are before treatment, the less you will need. Also, Isocort has the equivalent of 2.5mg of cortisol/pellet, so 8 pellets equals 20mg of cortisol...not hydrocortisone. > > That is strange. Guest guest
No the adrenal cortex secretes alot of hormones... not just cortisol. These would ALL be in Isocort.Read this: Hormones of the Adrenal Cortex The adrenal cortex consists of three different regions, with each region producing a different group or type of hormones. Chemically, all the cortical hormones are steroid. Mineralocorticoids are secreted by the outermost region of the adrenal cortex. The principal mineralocorticoid is aldosterone, which acts to conserve sodium ions and water in the body. Glucocorticoids are secreted by the middle region of the adrenal cortex. The principal glucocorticoid is cortisol, which increases blood glucose levels. The third group of steroids secreted by the adrenal cortex is the gonadocorticoids, or sex hormones. These are secreted by the innermost region. Male hormones, androgens, and female hormones, estrogens, are secreted in minimal amounts in both sexes by the adrenal cortex, but their effect is usually masked by the hormones from the testes and ovaries. In females, the masculinization effect of androgen secretion may become evident after menopause, when estrogen levels from the ovaries decrease From this site: http://training.seer.cancer.gov/module_anatomy/unit6_3_endo_glnds3_adrenal.html -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Joyce have you had Ferritin testing done, and do you take sea salt? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Yes, why do you ask? My ferritin was 85 and I do take sea salt......but I'm doing well on HC. I just asked the question because others seemed to be doing better on Isocort than HC and just wondered if it could be that they needed the other hormones, too.... I'm doing great, actually - due for another Armour increase. to 4-3/4 grains. It has been just over 4 weeks, and I have no hyper symptoms, so I'll do that today. I'm currently taking 20 mg of HC and 2 Isocort daily, and haven't needed to stress dose hardly at all! Guest guest
Well then you have found YOUR great dose of adrenal support! I have tried a couple times to lower my adrenal support but slowly just start getting more & more tired. So I am back to the 30MG that works wonders for me. And I am losing weight again since raising it back up!!!! I am down 8 pounds since i went back to 30 form 25MG a week and a half ago. AND I am trying another Armour 1/2 grain increase as well. I am just too tired in the afternoons now and can't stay conscious! So as that is one of my lower doses of Armour I will add 1/2 grain to my 2 PM dose and see what happens. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I just need to start losing weight! I have about 20 lb to lose, and none of my spring/summer clothes fit comfortably. And I can't AFFORD to buy all new clothes yet again! I have gone from a size 8/10 to a 14 and keep trying to stuff myself in to the 12's I haven't thrown out yet! I lost weight before I got pregnant w/ my son and got to a size 8/10. Then was dx'd with thyroid cancer and slowly have inched up to size 14. I am now down to a 12 again but stuck and two weeks ago gained weight so they were tight again. UGH!! I upped my dose of Armour last week and this morning the 3 pounds are gone again. YEAH!! I hope this is the beginning of some weight loss. I am tired of feeling fat and tired.

Guest guest
My Armour is increasing today to 4-3/4 grains......I'm hoping that'll do the trick! I'm so tired of feeling fat. And I'm really not fat, at least not what most people think of as fat. But for 40+ years of my life I was 5'6" and weighed no more that 115 lb except for pregnancies. So the extra layers of fat around the middle really bug me!!!! And it's all flab, it just hangs there and jiggles. I never experienced anything like that before! I just want to be back to ME! But at 50, maybe that's not entirely possible. Joyceladybugsandbees wrote: I just need to start losing weight! I have about 20 lb to lose, and none of my spring/summer clothes fit comfortably. Guest guest
Thanks for all the advice on the Isocort/HC. I am back on the Isocort and will stay here till I am back feeling as good as I did before I tried the HC. I am still wanting to try to switch, but next time I am going to gradually switch. I am not going to stress about it though, if I have to take Isocort instead of HC, then so be it. I may be just one of the odd ones that needs all the other stuff that is in the Isocort. I will be sending some of this HC to my sister, instead of the Isocort, so she can get started on some adrenal support asap. It will be good for here, so not all is lost. LOL I think my poor little nephew is going to need some adrenal support, as well. Anyway, thanks again. in OR (back to feeling better)
