Guest guest
Patty, thanks for the suggestion of looking in the database. I think that will be helpful - if we can contact some of those women who might give info for a contact list. There were times I have been pretty depressed over this whole implant thing... And it was a real struggle being diagnosed with so many autoimmune illnesses. But I look at how far I have come, and it gives me hope. And when I see the outpouring of love and the emails I have received from women who want to be a part of this " Big Sisters " effort -- it gives me chills. It is so uplifting!! The compassion and willingness to help others is breathtaking. I am open to suggestions as to how we can make this list accessible, while protecting the privacy of women who give their emails and phone numbers. I don't want to post it on the internet, because of the possibiltiy of cranks. Some women have suggested that we post a notice of the availability of the list on the forums and websites some women have created. On that notice would be a (simple) process where the women asking for the list can verify their identity. Or they receive the list if they are willing to put their own names on the list. I don't know if the latter is feasible, when women are still sick and looking for help to find a surgeon for explanting. Maybe we ask them to agree to be on the list after surgery and they are feeling better.
