I live in northwest PA, south of Buffalo, NY and north of Pittsburgh.

I'm probably just as close, if not closer, to Cleveland, OH, than to

Philly. I just became eligible for Medicare (because I'm on SS

Disability) in November so I haven't really had a chance to find a

doctor yet who will accept something other than PA Medicaid.

I also just bought a house in October, with my fiance', so I've been

forcing myself to do work on the house that I really can't handle

doing. My fibro is pretty bad and I take narcotics daily so it will

take a miracle for me to feel better. Getting the implants out would

help, I'm sure, but it'll take a lot more than that to get me even

close to normal again. My body has been through at least 30 surgeries

in the past 15-20 years so my immune system is weak. I was born with

a birth defect called Poland's Syndrome and the reconstructive plastic

surgeries that I thought would make me closer to " normal " have

actually done just the opposite. The surgeries and infections I've

had over the years have left me disabled and ironically, I never

considered myself " disabled " from the birth defect. It's a long

story, but I'll keep you all posted when I find a doctor to do my

surgery. That'll be just the beginning of trying to get my health

back, or attempting to.

Thanks for the responses.

Ok, so your back up insurance will be Medicaid. That might pose a problem,

but I would check it out as soon as possible to find out who will take

it. I would try Feng in Cleveland, Kolb in Atlanta, and Huang in

Denver. If that does not work, then there may be others who can come up

with a PA doctor.

Dianne,

Welcome Dianne . . . I know you're tired of being sick

and tired! . . . Just know that you can get much

better. It will take time, discipline and patience! .

.. . But it can be done. We've seen many, many women

get their lives back after getting their implants

removed! You should get much better, if not 100%.

The first question I would ask is if PA Medicaid will

pay for out of state surgery. Some states won't pay.

It's awful when the medical profession turns something

that's not disabling into something that causes you to

be disables . . . When their creed is " First, Do No

Harm " .

Maybe, when you're on the other side of this mess, you

will be able to tell your doctors what breast implants

meant to you! . . . Or can anything burst their little

bubble where all a woman needs for self-esteem is

breast implants?

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
