Hi

Can I ask what kind of lactulose you are all using?

Lactulose solution or concentrate?

Does anyone know how the docs dose it.. is it per body weight?

Thanks

L.

I am on lactulose 10/20 mg a day.  Mix it with water and watchi it work.

Lots of hugs and kisses to everyone.

Please understand that we are not doctors. You should consult a doctor or

pharmacist for instructions regarding lactulose. There are some specific

warnings you should be aware of that I think are often neglected. Lactulose

should not be used when a colonoscopy using electro-cautery is a possability,

because of the presence of flammable hydrogen gas. Ok- now then, my doctor tells

me to take 45 ml three times a day to titrate (adjust) for 2 to 3 loose stools a

day. This is a large dose, up from a 30 ml dose, and originally the trial dose

of 1 or 2 teaspoons a day. Lactulose is an osmotic laxative, and does not

usually cause dependence, but it is a very powerful laxitive, and should be used

with caution. (My opinion) Love, Bobby
