Guest guest
Hi Bill, Thanks for your comment. On my blog I've shared many stories about ACT and how it's changed my life and I intend to keep sharing as my journey continues. Everything I share about on there stems from ACT, but if I'm specifically talking about ACT in a post it is listed under the Acceptance & Commitment Therapy category. At the bottom of the webpage you can search by categories (ACT, weight loss, happiness, willingness, etc) and to the right you can also search posts by typing in key words. I really hope that others who are struggling can find the happiness in life I have found. I am confident that if it worked for me it can work for others too. Thank you again and good luck with your happiest life. http://myhappiestlife.com/ To: act_for_the_public From: wcamero@...Date: Tue, 16 Feb 2010 08:00:55 -0700Subject: RE: My story. Hi - Thanks for the uplifting post. I hope you will share more of your ACT journey. I was able to seek professional help and thankfully my original therapist advised me to check out this workbook. I completed the values section in January of 2009 and since then so many wonderful things have unfolded in my life. I truly did, get out of my mind and into my life. > > In an effort to get the word out about this workbook and about how great living a valued life can be, I started blogging earlier this year. I found out about this yahoo group and thought I'd share my story here in case someone reading this is on the fence about whether ACT works or not. Let me tell you it does!! > > > I'm actually working through the workbook again for a second time now with clear eyes and am seeing how brilliant it really is. I'm proud of myself for doing the hard work and sticking with it. I love life now and know exactly what life is about for me. > > Thanks Dr. ! > > > > > My blog website is http://myhappiestlife.com/ and below is my original post.> > My Happiest Life - > What I've done, am doing, and hope to do to live my happiest life.> > My name is and I am 32. I am from a small town in Southeast Alabama and now live in Boise, Idaho. I love life and am so freaking happy right now I decided to blog about it.> > Sounds like a big ol' bowl of cherries (or bull shit), right? Well, I haven't always been this happy! In fact, I've been very unhappy. I've struggled with many things including depression, addiction, obesity, and just plain boredom. Over the past 2 years, I've focused on turning things around and began without even knowing it, my journey to live my happiest life.> By practicing willingness and assessing values to my life, over the past 2 years I have stopped abusing alcohol and xanax, overcome a serious clinical depression, lost 50 pounds without dieting, made friends, found new activities and interests, achieved professional success, enhanced my marriage, and much much more! I am truly living and loving life now and finally know what it means to be happy and it is AWESOME!! > > I've seen how powerful willingness is and how simple little changes can snowball and manifest many wonderful things in my life. I'm now able to apply these easy techniques to even more aspects of my life and am continuing my lifelong journey to live my happiest life.> > Because I struggled with unhappiness and am truly happy now, I've decided to share my stories and experiences, what I've learned from them, and what works for me with you. Hopefully seeing what works for me will inspire you to find what works for you and maybe help you achieve your happiest life too! > > Life is hard and if we can find little ways to help one another through it and find and share happiness together, then I think we should. > > > > > ------------------------------------> > For other ACT materials and list serves see www.contextualpsychology.org> > If you do not wish to belong to ACT_for_the_Public, you may > unsubscribe by sending an email to > ACT_for_the_Public-unsubscribe
