Guest guest
hey everyone, i wanted to let y'all know that i got approved to have my surgery. i wished i had gone through that capital one plan first but for some reason i had thought it'd be the least likely to approve. go figure. and they told my husband we were approved right there on the phone. the other plan made me wait for 4 hrs and called to tell me i was declined-it was the one jenna used. so i added my husband's income to it and they said they'd call me back 10 later and that was about 4 1/2 hrs ago. the next one i tried said they'd call me tomorrow. my husband had even tried to get an increase on the limit of his credit card but they said they weren't giving increases right now.this is the same credit card company that just approved us through the financing plan! so i was quite distraught about the whole thing.now i feel better. my diflucan finally arrived in the mail today too. i took one and my first cipro pill right away.i'm still in shock over getting approved and am half-afraid that tomorrow they'll change their minds or say there was some mistake because i'm not used to many good things happening to me.i think those prayers of those praying for me here must've been heard. i was already looking at the oprah winfrey website this afternoon and prepared to call my old PS office back to see if i could get in to see him any earlier than february. i just wanted to let y'all know that it seems for now that things are on the right track but i'm still being cautious about getting my hopes all the way up just yet. Guest guest
Cosima That is great news! So you aren't going to go to your old ps right? It doesn't sound like he would take them out " en bloc " . If you don't have them removed correctly, it can really reduce your chances of getting well. Especially since you already have all those swollen lymph nodes, you certainly wouldn't want any of the capsule left or any of the contents of the implant spilling into you during surgery. Keep praying, and God will give you direction! Guest guest
I cannot take any antibiotic that I know of, as they all do something strange to me. Some break me out in hives, some make me shake all over, some make me puke and shake all over. Sulfa gave me a splitting headache (40 years ago) that would not go away. I just generally avoid them, and have not taken one in 20 years, even when I had pneumonia and Legionnaires Pneumonia. I just talked to my Naturopath to find ways to boost my immune system. I think that there are many ways to fight off infections without damaging your body. I am glad they gave you diflucan to counter the effects of the antibiotic. Are you taking probiotics or anything to rebuild your good germs? Guest guest
I had that reaction to minocin and I know cipro can have many side effects in some people. Plus the diflucan. In addition to just plain drug side effects, the die off of yeast and other pathogens can be creating symptoms. Make sure to drink alot of water. How long do you have to take them for? I can't imagine how hard it is for you to study for finals feeling this way. I am praying that you will get through finals ok and will start feeling better! Guest guest
kathy, i just have the one essay exam. the cipro is really doing a number on me and i know that's what it is because i looked up the side effects and have taken it before. it messes up my vision-it seems dimmer and i have ringing in my ears with my hearing feeling like i have cotton stufed in my ears, i actually have some mild hallucinations and feel kind of uncoordinated and detached from myself. i'm real sensitive to meds so it's not really unexpected but going through 14 days of it is pure hell. thankfully, tomorrow the test will be over. dr. kolb emailed me a brief note to give to my professor so i could have extended time by either taking the test a day later or having some extra time during regular exam time. i have a perfect 4.0 grade point average right now so i don't really want it sliding into the toilet at this point if i can help it. a C in grad school earns you 1 demerit point and you can only have 3 but you don't have to retake the class unless it's below a C.as it is, i had a hard time just trying to spell the word professor for the email to dr. kolb. it seems like the cipro makes my mental clouding worse. > > > > > > > > hey everyone, > > > > > > > > i wanted to let y'all know that i got approved to have my > > surgery. > > > i > > > > wished i had gone through that capital one plan first but for > > some > > > > reason i had thought it'd be the least likely to approve. go > > > figure. > > > > and they told my husband we were approved right there on the > > > phone. > > > > the other plan made me wait for 4 hrs and called to tell me i > was > > > > declined-it was the one jenna used. so i added my husband's > > income > > > to > > > > it and they said they'd call me back 10 later and that was > about > > 4 > > > > 1/2 hrs ago. the next one i tried said they'd call me > tomorrow. > > my > > > > husband had even tried to get an increase on the limit of his > > > credit > > > > card but they said they weren't giving increases right > now.this > > is > > > > the same credit card company that just approved us through the > > > > financing plan! so i was quite distraught about the whole > > > thing.now i > > > > feel better. my diflucan finally arrived in the mail today > too. i > > > > took one and my first cipro pill right away.i'm still in shock > > > over > > > > getting approved and am half-afraid that tomorrow they'll > change > > > > their minds or say there was some mistake because i'm not used > to > > > > many good things happening to me.i think those prayers of > those > > > > praying for me here must've been heard. i was already looking > at > > > the > > > > oprah winfrey website this afternoon and prepared to call my > old > > > PS > > > > office back to see if i could get in to see him any earlier > than > > > > february. > > > > > > > > i just wanted to let y'all know that it seems for now that > things > > > are > > > > on the right track but i'm still being cautious about getting > my > > > > hopes all the way up just yet. > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Cosima, I hope you're drinking a lot of non-chlorinated water with the Cipro! Also . . . I'd ask Dr. Kolb if you can skip the Cipro from now until you finish your exam. Good luck with your exam! . . . I know you're stressing mightly right now. That's not good! . . . Do you know how to do positive imaging where you relax and visualize yourself taking the test with a clear mind and information flowing freely from you to the test pages? It could help a great deal! Guest guest
rogene, i don't think i can skip the cipro at all because i was so sick when i started on it and just one lapse might be enough to let the infection get more of a foothold. i'm trying to drink my filtered water but i can't down 8 full glasses a day but i do drink about 2 and then about 2-3 cups of hot green tea, etc.thanks for the advice. > > Cosima, > > I hope you're drinking a lot of non-chlorinated water > with the Cipro! > > Also . . . Guest guest
thanks rogene, i did ok i guess. i mean i passed it but i don't know the grade yet. the professor did tell me that i'll probably have a high B in the class if i didn't do that well on it because i was juston the cusp of an A. oh well, my first B won't kill me, not like the ones in my chest so i'm not complaining. but i sure was hurting throughout the whole 3 hrs. my joints already ache something awful and my writing hand was killing me long before the test was done, which is what took me so long. i was the last one out.it was all long essay questions- 4 of them. > > Cosmia, > > I hope your exam went well today! Guest guest
Hey Cosima, I can relate! I've been in school since June, and the entire time I've been getting worse from the implants. First semester I got all A's, second semester I am struggling. I'm able to concentrate much better with the implants out, but I spent the first half of this semester in a total fog. Before the explant I would sit there and class and wonder if I was going to make it without passing out. At least now I've got them out and I'm concentrating on school more. Guest guest
I'm relating to the trials of school too . . . I got my degree late in life . . . After I quit my job because I couldn't be around smokers who were smoking legally! By the time I reached the point of making the decision to go to graduate school, I couldn't think straight at all and stopped with a BA! Horrible, horrible, horrible. I didn't connect my brain fog to my breast implants, or they would have been out much sooner! I often think the effects of silicone on the brain are worse than those on the body! Guest guest
congratulations!!! Dawn, going through mail. Not sure if I congratulated you before. I am happy you didn't have to get loans.
