Guest guest
Once I had the right thyroidhormones infused in my tissues I believe I was then able to metabolize theBHRT properly.Sam This is my theory too, if your roid isn't happy it steals from the rest of you. Guest guest
100mg of P (in a cream) a day but I think I'm taking a bit more right now.Do Ineed more than that? Sam, do you do that P everyday, or just 2 weeks a month?? I know P ( in WP doses)altered my blood sugar, and made me sleepy, BUT if you're feelin GOOD, I wouldn't want to change anything if I were you, )) . I am also amazed at how little E you can do, but then I think I altered my body having been on the WP( high double doses of E) for almost 2 years, yikes! Funny it's when I did those huge P doses, one month my body just said enough, I haven't been able to use P since, was told I have a build-up in my tissues of it, but feel allergic to it....from there I lowered my E and my thyroid started acting hypo.....added the Test, and am still adjusting my thyroid....I'd set tight if I was YOU.....you sound GOOD ))
Guest guest
I've been applying all the creams/gels this way for a long time and no extrahair growth anywhere SO Sam, how long is a long time???? The .5mgs of Test. you do that once a day or BID?? I do .3mgs. BID......guess up to 1mg. a day of the transdermal is OK.......I get blood levels cked in Jan....have you done any labs??? Guest guest
Hi Sam, your post is very informative, let me add my experience with P. When I was on P with the WP I also took ARmour, yet I had the worst itching in my eyes, the P even made me get my old herpes virus back and into my eyes, the itching was awful-painful. it seems I became "allergic" to P , - every time I tried the slightest amount of P,I started having another (gone underground) virus come back - like candida acne etc. , plus my legs' blood vessels started tingling keeping me awake at night. After I had been able to go completely without Armour for months now I have struggled with the weirdest flu for 3 weeks now, and I'm so tired I don't want to get up in the morning, i.e. I seem to be super-hypo thyroid again....! I hope the iodine will help against breast a n d also uterine proliferation, although I will add 1 drop of P the second half of the month, inside my elbow. Any feedback to that ? Love, Charlotte Re: Re: Oops, is right/ HRT can CAUSE dry eyes >Well Sam, if the P helps the Armour intake, then we'll need to P to>get the job done!! I doubled my Armour dose and was STILL getting>dry eyes. I'm suspecting the P now. But, , you're only on half a grain of Armour. That is an incredibly lowdose. Seriously. I'm on 390mg (6 1/2 grains). I did feel good when Iinitially went on Armour (2 grains/120mg to start, I believe), but I hadbeen on synthroid before that with only negative effects (bone loss, hairloss, dying, etc). Of course my symptoms eventually returned so I upped mydose, and when they again returned I upped my dose again, and I continue todo that whenever the symptoms return. That is how a human gets to his/heroptimum dose for their particular physiology. So if you are againsymptomatic for thyroid stuff (dry eyes for example), and you're on Armour,it's obvious your dose needs increasing. Remember, the thyroid is the mastercontrol of our entire metabolism. If it's not working right, nothing else isand we struggle. Is your body temp low consistently? And if I had started BHRT before Armour, I don't think it would have madeany difference to my body because it was so screwed up from no thyroidhormones (I have no thyroid gland). Ok, it might have done "something" sinceI also have no ovaries, but not enough. Once I had the right thyroidhormones infused in my tissues I believe I was then able to metabolize theBHRT properly.Sam(thyroid-less, ovary-less and Armour-ized)k9gang@... Guest guest
>Sam, do you do that P everyday, or just 2 weeks a month?? I usually go off it for 3 days, which is the amount of time from when I run out to when I get my Rx re-filled. I have no ovaries or uterus. When I go back on it, my libido goes thru the roof. It might be a little too dangerous (not for me) if I stayed off it for " 2 weeks " and then went back on it. <grin> >I am also amazed at how little E you can do, Am I on a small amount of E? How much should a small statured 'active' female be on? I don't know, you see. How much E2 is in the amount of Oestrogel I take? I have totally passed on trying to figure out how much a line (fat or skinny line? Who invented that? Ack!) is, and guestimated whatever line I had in front of me and 3/4tsp were about the same amounts. It's a heaping, blobbing over the sides kind of 3/4tsp, tho. I'd like a digital gram scale for Xmas, Bad Santa...must remind myself to ask him that the next time I plop my skinny butt on his substantial lap, in public... >....from there I lowered my E and my thyroid started acting hypo..... >added the Test, and am still adjusting my thyroid....I'd set tight if I >was YOU.....you sound GOOD )) Isn't it usually lowered P that messes up cortesol (adrenals)? and then the thyroid reacts? I wonder how that worked with you? [from another post] >>I've been applying all the creams/gels this way for a long time and no >>extra hair growth anywhere > >SO Sam, how long is a long time???? Let's see, I started progesterone in February, then added Estradiol a bit later and then Testosterone after that. The only time I stop the E and Te is when I run out of it and the dr is taking her sweet time re-Rx'ing it. So I guess I've been taking it for not quite a year. >The .5mgs of Test. you do that once a day or BID?? Once in the late morning along with the E and P. I used to take it all BID but I don't have the time to do that anymore, so I do it all in the late morning or right after my shower. >...up to 1mg. a day of the transdermal is OK....... [te] Really? You see I don't know. I'm just sort of guessing about the amounts I need, along with reading almost everything I could get my hands on. Plus I'm also going by " how I feel " . About as scientific as I can get. <wink> >I get blood levels cked in Jan....have you done any labs??? I can not get a dr to test my hormones, no matter how hard I try and I don't have extra cash to privately order testing everything from one or the other 2 online self testing places. What I did was just tell this one dr how much I was taking (I fudged and told her more, plus I lied and told her I was taking te) and she just Rx'd it! And I was actually hoping she would run tests before doing that, but nope. And subsequent Drs just keep me on whatever the previous dr Rx'd. Too bad I couldn't get my Armour done that way. I have to rely on my disability insurance and apparently they are inhumane - they will not pay for a female testing for testosterone. In fact they won't pay for a female to 'take' testosterone as, in their words, " women do not take testosterone, that is for men. " So I fork out $36 a month for it. Plus they will " only " pay for Premarin, so I get my estradiol from another continent. They pay for the progesterone, but I can get that OTC anyway. Too bad I can't just re-grow my entire endocrine system. Just think of the possibilities of being able to do that. They could use my own stem cells from my skin to clone more parts for me. Wouldn't that be totally cool? Sam (thyroid-less, ovary-less and Armour-ized) k9gang@...
Guest guest
You were overdosing on progesterone and reacted badly to it? Ouchy. But now you're getting hypOthyroid symptoms back? Well, if you have them, you have them. And you've been tested and were " within normal range " (you mentioned in a previous email) and on 1/2 grain of Armour (30mg). Well, I don't know, maybe all the WP stuff tweeked off your thyroid or something else??? But, again, you're on a rather teeny weeny little dinky itty bitty eensy weensy widdle bitsy dose of Armour and may just need a bit more. Maybe when that is all regulated with you, the other hormones can be easier brought back to where they should be? Guest guest
My thyroid symptoms were really not that bad. My basal temp never got below 97. I never had hair loss of any kind either. I just think I've not been balancing the E & P properly. But damn, every time I apply the 50mg of P cream, my heel starts throbbing and so does my neck muscles. My doctor thinks I'm nuts. > > >Well Sam, if the P helps the Armour intake, then we'll need to P to > >get the job done!! I doubled my Armour dose and was STILL getting > >dry eyes. Guest guest
I'm afraid that this is what has happened to me . The minute I go over 20 mg of P, the aches on my body are unbelievable. They sprout out of nowhere. Right now 100 mg of P to me sounds like a lethal dose. > > > In a message dated 12/22/2005 12:56:55 PM Pacific Standard Time, > k9gang@o... writes: > > 100mg of P (in a cream) a day but I think I'm taking a bit more right now. > Do I > need more than that? > > > > Sam, do you do that P everyday, or just 2 weeks a month?? Guest guest
Sam I think you are confusing Charlotte and me. I am the one on the 1/2 grain of Armour, not Charlotte. > > You were overdosing on progesterone and reacted badly to it? Ouchy. > But now you're getting hypOthyroid symptoms back?
