Guest guest
Hi Rogene! I finally got to order my sauna yesterday! We had to wait until we got moved back into the house to have a place to put it. We ordered a three-man so we can lay down if we like. I ordered it from Miracle Heat. I liked that it wasn't cedar because cedar gives me headaches. It is untreated poplar and birch, maybe? Neither are supposed to outgas. They are having a sale and threw in a Magazine Rack, Shelf, Aroma Therapy and Ceramic Heaters free, plus free shipping. I'll have it in two long weeks! Guest guest
Kenda, Wonderful! . . . You'll love your sauna. I didn't know they've added those whistles and bells! . . . Do watch - certain magazines - those with glued spines - may fall apart in the sauna heat. I wish mine was big enough to lay down in! I don't know what's going on in D.C. . . .but they've quit paying for far infrared therapy for Medicare patients. The patients my daughter works with (keep in mind they have Alzheimer's - so you don't get placabo effects) have shown so much improvement, the center does the treatments anyway for free! The saunas did have their detractors, until the staff saw the improvement in long-term disabled patients. Now they're believers! Maybe the people who make their money selling drugs have been influence pedaling again! Hugs, Rogene --- Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: > Hi Rogene! > > I finally got to order my sauna yesterday! Guest guest
Are you talking about a jet tub - as in your bathroom? With that, you change water with every use . . . Usually, with hot tubs, you fill them up and use them indefinitely . . . This can create a bacteria problem if they're not properly maintained. . . especially for people who are immune suppressed. I refuse to use public hot tubs! There is something called a crystal ball you can use to remove chlorine from bath water . . a web search will tell you more. Guest guest
, I don't know if this helps you but I think you did the right thing. I am very chemically sensitive and I just let my Arizona Sauna out gas running outside for two days and I am fine using it. Yesterday I went to Whole Foods and wanted to smell a couple of organic essential oils. By the time I finished I had brain fog so bad I couldn't wait to get back home. I thought being organic I would be fine. WRONG! It finally subsided after a couple of hours. Penni Re: Far Infrared Sauna O.K. I am a chicken. Guest guest
Thanks Penny, I think I did too and am much more comfortable with the decision especially considering how expensive they are. Switching it out after the fact would have cost me $1,300 according the them. This way, it only cost me $150 ( a small price to pay compartively speaking). This whole detox thing has me a little nervous anyway!! Thanks for you support !!! > > > > > > > > Hi Rogene! > > > > > > > > I finally got to order my sauna yesterday! Guest guest
Yippee!! Today is the day my sauna was delivered and installed! I have it heating up right now! The directions say to start at 110 to 130 degrees initially. What temp do those of you that already have one use? I had a down the hatch scope today of my upper GI tract so I'm anxious to sweat out the drugs they gave me to sedate me! Kenda

I set the temp for 130 degrees and 40 minutes time . . . It seldom reaches 130 because I open the door a bit to get more air. . . Then I up the time when I feel I need it. I think you're really going to enjoy it! . . . Where did you end up putting it?Rogene
Guest guest
Rogene, It's at 125 now. We put it in the exercise room since there isn't anything in it except my yoga bar. We're getting in now. Guest guest
Hi Rogene, According to the Miracle Heat website it states that we shouldn't shower immediately afterward because you can inhale toxins released in the shower. Below is part of what their site says. How long do you wait to shower? We were in 20 minutes at 120 degrees and it was hot! My daughter and I are both sweating like pigs! " Do not immediately shower after your session due to eliminated toxins on the body's surface. Toxins may be inhaled through water vapor mist causing nausea. If a shower is required, simply wipe your body with a cool moistened wash cloth. A hot shower before a sauna session may enhance sweat volume by heat conditioning your body. For optimal results refrain from using the sauna on a full stomach. " Kenda > Kenda . . . > > I start go in the sauna when I turn it on (unless it's cold outside - then I > warm it up) . . . Guest guest
Hi Sunny, Thank you! I hope you can save to get one. My daughter and I just got out. We sweat like pigs in just 10 minutes! We were counting seconds to make it 20 minutes, we were both really hot and ready to get out. My son asked if we were rejuvenated, no way, we are ready for bed! Guest guest
This makes sense now, I just reread it. I got in the sauna at 125 degrees. No wonder 20 minutes was tough! I was wondering how you could stand it for 130 at 40 minutes! Kenda > Kenda . . . > > I start go in the sauna when I turn it on (unless it's cold outside - then I > warm it up) . . . Guest guest
It would have to work, given the amount we sweat inside. I don't sweat that easily during exercise but I really sweat a lot in the sauna. I really wanted out at 20 minutes! Kenda > Mine was delivered last night . Guest guest
Congratulations Kenda! I usually set mine at 130, and stay in for 30 minutes. I don't have any trouble staying in for that long at all at that temperature. I usually take a book to read with me, and that makes the time fly. It is helpful to run or do some sort of exercise to get your blood flowing good before you enter the sauna. This will make you sweat more profusely. Enjoy it! Guest guest
Kenda, This is probably true. But you could put a shower filter on your shower head that would remove the chlorine residue and I think it would be okay. That's what we do. I am sure that is the vapor residue that they are discussing, even though they don't come right out and say it. Chlorine is in most water supplies, and it is released as a vapor very easily in the shower, and yes, we inhale more probably that way than any other exposure! A bath will probably also be a good option, prepared beforehand so the chlorine can vaporize, or else you can use a Crystal Ball in the tub to neutralize the chemicals. http://www.crystalclearsupply.com/Crystal_Bath_Ball_Bath_Filter_p/cb-2000.htm Patty Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Hi Rogene,According to the Miracle Heat website it states that we shouldn't showerimmediately afterward because you can inhale toxins released in the shower.Below is part of what their site says. Guest guest
So you crack the door open to allow fresh air? We kept it closed to keep the heat in. Wouldn't cooling down defeat the purpose? Guest guest
You're probably right, you'd be wet before the steam could cause toxins to penetrate. I have concerns about toxins sitting on my skin before I shower. I'll have to research this more. I don't take baths because they give me female problems. Kenda > Kenda . . .
