Hi Joe,Maybe it is profound for you.  The " act " of accepting can be powerful.  I have never seen you as a person who was worried about being " good enough, " or failing.  But your last line of your email is significant.  Oh, my insight is not really profound, duhs from the peanut gallery.  Blah.

I have experienced over and over some powerful insight or words or book, or whatever, that was insightful for me and sometimes just blew me away.  When telling other people, they just look perplexed, like I am crazy, and they didn't see it the same way, but for me it was an epiphany and that is all that is important.  We are all on our own paths.

Never worry about what the peanut gallery thinks.  They are never thinking anything good no matter what you do.Peace,n

Hi n,

I'm talking about the everyday, run-of-the-mill anxiety and discomfort that occurs for me every time I automatically run one of the many unhelpful scripts (I'm not good enough, I'm going to fail...blah, blah, blah) stored in my brain. The pain, instead of being something I endure mindlessly, becomes a signal that it might be a good idea to become mindful;just take a peak inside and notice what's going on. I know there's a lot of talk on this list about " accepting " the pain and acting in value-directed ways in spite of the pain...I get that. However, for me, if I consistently notice my pain from the perspective of the observer, it almost always diminishes and rather quickly. Maybe it's just in the " act " of accepting it, not trying to chase it away and understand it that I get relief.

I guess it's not quite the profound insight I thought it was...I can almost hear the chorus of, " Duh's " from the peanut gallery.
