Hi Tina,

At our center, Medicare appeals have been

granted in 6 cases with diagnosis’ MDS, NHL, DLCBL and MCL for allo

transplant.

I would check with your Medicare fiscal

intermediary regarding their appeal process. In Pennsylvania, an appeal can be initiated if

the diagnosis/procedure are neither listed as covered nor non-covered under

Medicare guidelines.

Thanks!

Hi!

We have been very successful with MUD's here with Medicare as the primary payor

without ever having to go thru an appeal process. Though, we do NOT transplant

patients with MDS.

We give allo's to patients with diagnosis' of AML, ALL, APL, CML, CLL, PLL, CMML

Leukemia

Leukemia in remission

Aplastic Anemia

We have not had any luck with our intermediary. He will not review before or

after transplant.

Please call me if you have any questions.
