Guest guest
Dear Jen, People with fibro definitely qualify for a handicap hang tag, and also a handicap license plate, provided that your name is included on the title to the vehicle. I have been approved for handicap status in both Tennessee and Arkansas, and the process was the same. You go to the county courthouse where you buy your license plates and pick up a form for a handicap tag. You fill out part of it, such as your name, address, etc., and then get the doctor to fill out the medical portion of it, indicating that walking is too difficult for you Sharon Faith...with it, miracles *CAN* and *DO* happen! Guest guest
Dear Jen, I accidentally hit the send button before I was ready. In Tennessee at least, they do not even question the word of the doctor. When I worked for an ophthalmologist, I saw forms he completed listing poor vision as the qualifying handicap. In both Tennessee and Arkansas, you qualify for the plate ONLY if your name is included on the title and registration. In addition to the plate, you also get a hang tag so that you will have it when you are riding in another vehicle with someone who is not handicapped. If your name is not on the title and registration, then you qualify for the hang tag only. Speaking on hang tags... do all of you know that it is illegal to drive with the hang tag on your mirror? You are supposed to hang it only after you are parked and remove it before backing out. Not too many people follow this guideline, and I do not know of anybody ever getting a ticket for this offense, but I thought it was worth mentioning here. gentle hugs, Sharon Faith...with it, miracles *CAN* and *DO* happen! Guest guest
Hi - Go to the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) in your area and get a form. The form lists the requirements. This then has to be filled ou by you and a section by your doctor. I just renewed mine. If the envy wasn't already sealed - I would list the reqirements for you. Guest guest
Requirements vary by state. They just changed them here in Florida where it's almost impossible to get one unless you are wheelchair bound. Luckily I already had mine & just had to renew it. in ville <><><><><> Re: Re: Handicap parking/some questions Hi - Go to the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) in your area and get a form.
