Limin- I found Chitosan under HydrOXIDES and Flucculants. This is not the same

hydroxylation process as collagen. Oops.

But, I believe it may inadvertely affect collagen. Chitosan acts to turn over

intestinal lumen cholesterol. The hydroxyl group on cholesterol interacts with

the polar head groups of the membrane phospholipids. This may change the cell

membrane and allow the collagen to form/heal.

I also just found that Iron and & #945;-ketoglutarateare part of the reaction to

create collagen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolyl_hydroxylase

Yes, we have low homocysteine and cholesterol. But, I'm not connecting the dots.

Anyone?

Hope any or all is helpful,

~zeph
