Guest guest
Hi , Hooray! Congrats on taking the step to get those aliens out! It feels good, doesn't it, to know you will start getting better? Re: the drains, I think it depends on your surgeon--mine only left them in for one day, but I know others leave them in for two, three, or more days. Aside from the drains, you will probably be pretty tired after the surgery and will need to rest a lot and avoid moving your upper body too much. I'm two and half weeks post-op now and I'm just starting to do some light upper body activities, nothing too strenuous. According to Melmed, you don't want to strain your muscles which will cause problems later. Are you having a lift? If so, you will need to be even more careful, because the tissues will have been moved around and sutured in a new place. The key is, take it easy as much as possible.Relax and watch movies, read, knit, hang out with friends and family. You'll have lots of time later to be busy! Melinda Surgery Date! I finally found a doctor and I have my surgery date. I'm having my implants removed on the 13th of December. This doctor is going to do everything I was requesting. He'll remove the implants along with the capsules and then I'll have the drain. I was told I'll have the drain in until I stop leaking so I wanted to check with those of you who had this done to get a time frame? December is a bad month to get this done but I can't wait until after the holidays. I know everyone is different but I'm just looking for a ball park on when I can be back up and moving after? We have family coming from 3000 miles away and I would like to enjoy their visit! At the same time I won't have to do much since everyone will be here to help. So I'm very excited that I'm moving in the right direction now. For so many months this all looked hopeless but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you all for keeping me going since there has been so many days I've wanted to just give up!Thanks a Bunch,

Guest guest
HI , i am so happy that you found a local PS to help you! That is so wonderful. As for the drains it is typically 5-7 days with the tubes but some girls have had theres out after a couple days...it all depends on how much fluid is still coming out. You can hide them with a big sweatshirt...and it is just more annoying then anything else. As for feeling better...I was very sore and tired the first week. Just pace yourself. Everyone is diff. but my implant surgery was much worse then the explant! Just make sure you don't push yourself. Let you friends and family wait on you! How great would that be...you can take advantage of it and get out of cooking for the holidays! Ha ha! Take care and keep us updated on things! Guest guest
Congratulations ! I had mine removed a month ago. My drains were in for less than a week. As soon as they came out I felt well enough to start taking walks, though I know that's not true for everyone. That's just great about your surgery, and don't worry about the holiday, this is soooo much more important. Guest guest
Congratulations, !! I had my drains in for five days. It helped keep the pain to a minimum because all that junk wasn't accumulating in my chest. I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy your holiday guests. Guest guest
, Recovery from explant is really quick compared to implanting. I think I was able to function pretty normally within about a week to 10 days. You'll be good to go in time for Christmas! Guest guest
Congradulations on making your explant decision .. . . You'll make it . . . If you'll start on a really healthy eating/detox program between now and then, hopefully you'll feel better while you wait and you will bounce back faster after explant! If you haven't already, check " The Maker's Diet " . . . good plan! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
, Congratulations! Before you know it the day will be here. I can understand your being nervous, however I found the explant much easier than getting implants. For me, keeping the implants in was not an option, I knew it was a huge mistake from day one, and then unfortunately I quickly started getting ill, so I knew I'd just continue to get sicker and I wasn't willing to let that happen. I look back on the past year and just can't believe the chain of events, but I'm very thankful to have found this group. We'll help you through this!!
