Guest guest
ummmm 12 cloves of raw garlic??!! I don't think I could stomach even 1 clove of raw garlic. I usually chop it up and cook it in mith food but I can't even stomach raw tomoates or onions either.Sounds like the cure is as bad as the disease but maybe this one is less expensive in the long run. well, I'll try it but I don't know that I won't just puke it right up. I already drink green tea, take multiple vitamin, eat fresh fruits and veggies but I admit I do love things like bread and some snack foods once in a while too.I'm also not sure I can consume the recommended amount of water either because my stomach gets full quickly and I wouldn't ever eat any food, there just wouldn't be any room and I can't afford that to happen because I only weigh 87 lbs but I'm only 4ft 10 in tall and small-boned so I'm the right size but I won't be if I don't eat. > > Cosima, > > First let's get your mail down to a manageble level. > If you'll set your group settings to " Daily Digest " > the messages will be grouped into bunches of about 25 > messages . . . Guest guest
Cosima, You can buy garlic capsules at any health food store if you want to take garlic but can't stomach it raw. As for water, if you sip it all day, you'll be surprised at how much you can drink. Actually the amount recommended for people is based upon body weight so you're daily consumption can be a bit less than someone who weights quite a bit more than you do. Remember though, that you are detoxing and do need to keep flushing the toxins out. What type of multiple vitamin are you taking? Kenda > > ummmm 12 cloves of raw garlic??!! Guest guest
Cosima, Don't start with 12 cloves! That would be guaranteed to make you feel terrible! I've never gotten beyond five cloves in one day myself! I'd suggest starting with a small clove, and gradually working up . . . you can eat it several times a day. When you reach the point where someone can smell garlic across the room from you, you're there! LOL! When you cook garlic, most of it's medicinal value is lost to the heat. Garlic is available in pill form too - deoderized! . . . But, buy the time it's processed, most of it's potency is lost! Onions have some of the same properties. The reaction you feel when eating them could a herx. Start slow and know what you are feeling. You can expect to feel uncomfortable. If you try to go too fast, the herx you experience will become a deterent to continuing. If you'll keep water handy and sip it throughout the day, you'll be able to handle the water. You can count tea in the amount of water you drink . . . no coffee though! . . . no soft drinks - even sugar free. A small amount of sweet juices are OK . . . Lemon or grapefruit juice is great! If you'll pour a pitcher of water of the amount you need to drink, then drink that throughout the day, it should be easy! You shouldn't lose weight eating right. . . There are lots of healthy foods to eat! Check The Maker's Diet. We get so used to eating junk, we forget about all the wonderfully healthy foods that are available. For low cost, there are many varieties of beans and whole grains like brown rice and whole grain breads. Flax seed, run through a coffee grinder, and mixed with a bit of juice is very, very healthy. Be sure to eat healthy fats too . . . those high in Omega 3 fatty acids. Avoid trans-fats. Olive oil is excellent! Eggs are great! . . . but buy those that are raised without antibiotics and hormones. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
ummmm reach the point where people can smell garlic on me from across the room?! ok, so there goes my public relations. guess I'll get used to being lonely, huh? but what about the taste of the stuff, won't that alone be enough to make me hurl? and give up my one-two cups of daily java? dang and I buy the best kind, gevalia, which is finely ground and doesn't have all the impurities that store brands have. I buy it from a catalog. We already drink filtered water. my husband's parents have a water filter system for their whole house.I can see eating this kind of diet exclusively while I'm detoxing but I sure hope that once that is over, I can at least some of the other foods (not necessarily the junk) at least occassionally lest I gain the urge to give up eating altogether. I've tried brown rice many times but nobody in my family will eat it because it's so tasteless that I end up jjust throwing it away after I make it.I take fish oil supplements but flaxeed oil doesn't seem to agree with me. it makes my palms and bottom of my feet feel sore and itchy and slightly red.I've even went so far as to try to buy unbleached paper products (we do use unbleached coffee filters)such as paper towels and toilet paper, feminine pads, etc. in an effort to avoid dioxin, which is believed to play a role in promoting endometriosis. but I ended up being afraid to eat or use anything and literally just wouldn't touch anything for a while. I even take the plastic wrap off stuff I buy at the grocery store and never use styrofoam or microwave in plastic, etc.I was so tired of hurting all the time. But it's just impossible to avoid all the culprits, at least in this country and probably in most other places as well.I'll check out that maker's diet and try to conform to what I can. I sure won't be enjoying thansgiving dinner too much without pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice cheesecake and pumpkin spice flavored coffee. well, I could always start the new diet the day after.... > > Cosima, > > Don't start with 12 cloves! Guest guest
I'm taking Nature's Plus Source of Life multi-vitamin and mineral supplement without iron and with whole food concentrates. it has some herbs in it as well.I take a fish oil supplement as well but only every other day since it can build up in the liver. --- In , Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@c...> wrote: > > Cosima, > > You can buy garlic capsules at any health food store if you want to take > garlic but can't stomach it raw. Guest guest
I can't take garlic in concentrated forms. I can eat it cooked, but I get terrible pains (like I'm having a heart attack) from Garlic pills. I haven't attempted to eat it raw but I'm wondering if it would do the same thing (I know my husband gets heartburn when he eats it raw). Any alternatives? Guest guest
Cosima, I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving to the hilt - food and all! . . . The idea of the diet is to provide your body with foods, as pure a possible, that will provide your body with the raw material it takes to rebuild damaged cells. The diet denies fungal organisms what they need to thrive, while reintroducing beneficial organisms into your body that will eventually keep the fungal organisms under control on their own. You won't need to stay on the diet indefinitely - but, the worse you feel, the more important it is that you get on a very healthy diet. It's especially hard when you're not totally in control of the foods you eat - like holidays! There is a self test you can do to see if you have a Candida problem. . . The first thing in the morning, before putting anything in your mouth, spit in a glass of water. Check it after 15 minutes. If there is a milky blob floating, sunken to the bottom, or chunks floating it indicates a problem. This isn't scientific, but it tracks well with diet and supplements intended to control Candida. And with how you feel! The fact that you react to some of these foods is an indication that you have a problem. The reactions you are having is what we call a Herx. . . This means you will need to ease into a program. . . Don't go all out, or you will feel really terrible! When you get the fungal issues under control, you should be able to eat any of these foods in moderation. The positive side of taking prescription medications is that you get really fast results. . . however, those results don't last unless you do your part. . . And, medications like antibiotics and steriods have their own side effects you will have to deal with later. If you can muster the discipline to manage your diet closely, you will do much better in the long run. Sometimes I think doctors either don't trust patients to do their part diet-wise, or don't want to spend the time to teach them what to do. If you can't stomach raw garlic, there are garlic pills. However, the good quality ones are fairly expensive. . . Fresh garlic is considerably more potent than the pill form as well as less expensive. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
