Hi Jenna - I posted a message but for some reason I didn't see it

come up. I'm trying it one more time!!

Anyway, my original message was that you look great!! You look

better post explant than you did with implants!!! All around this

experience seems to have been a good one for you (post-explant, that

is), because you quickly regained your health, and your results are

beautiful. God's smiling on you, girl!!

We all definitely are different, and don't worry that your quick

recovery is discouraging me, because it's not - I'm very happy for

your improved health and I know my body takes longer to re-adjust,

it always has been that way. It usually takes me six months and

usually there's no change for a long time and then suddenly when the

seasons change (especially winter to spring) there's a dramatic

change. I'm looking forward to spring!!! It doesn't take much to

whack my body out, but it takes a while for the correction. Of

course perhaps I can convince my husband to take me to an island and

see if it tricks my body into snapping out of it!!! Either way I'd

love a vacation!!

It is funny you say that because I hate winter! I hate Ohio, and I

seriously think that I get depressed in the winter months. There is

a diagnosis for that! It is just so gloomy all the time here! I

think I may have to talk my husband into taking me someplace warm as

well....;)

Yes the diagnosis is SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder. And it is more

common that people think. It is common in the NW where it rains all winter

and people do not see the sun. And in Alaska in the winter where it never

really gets to be true daylight for months.

My issues aren't so much with SAD, it seems like my body physically

gets well if I've been ailing as soon as the seasons change. I'm

sure it's exposure to the sun or perhaps the warmer temperature, but

it's happened so many times that I know it's just a fact of life.

SAD is what drove me away from Illinois, where I grew up. Every year

I suffered depression beginning in about late January. Since my dad

was a Yamaha franchise dealer, we went to Florida every year for the

Daytona races. That perked me right up. And that is ultimately

what drove me to the sunny desert southwest. I couldn't get out of

Illinois fast enough after I graduated from high school. I never

suffered from season affective disorder again after moving!

For those that can't move away from northern climates, I think you

can buy UV lighting or just special light bulbs for your home that

is supposed to help during those dreary winter days. (But I still

think moving is a great idea!)

Jenna, your pictures look great! You definitely are looking better

and better as far as those surgical scars are going. I am sure you

are very happy with the outcome...you have alot to be thankful for!

With many auto-immune problems, like lupus and many others, weather can

affect how you feel.

You can actually built your own SAD light box, cheaper than buying

one. You have it set to turn on every morning from about 3 hours before

you get up, usually they come on gradually. People swear this keeps them

out of the symptoms of depression.

I know that I can start feeling depressed if we have more than 3 days of

ultra-cloudy weather.

Thanks Patty! I will also take moving to a warmer climate over a UV

lamp any day! ;) I am lucky because my husband feels the same way,

so in time when things progress with his company i have a feeling we

will be down south or out west very soon. We are torn, my dad is

retiring in Marco Island, FL and his entire family is out in

, NV. We are going to Las vegas for x-mas to visit his

family this year so hopefully that will help...although then my

gambling problem will come back! LOL, thanks again. I am feeling

much better about my results!

Sis,

There is a treatment for SAD . . . It involves

spending time in front of lights that emit a certain

wavelength (do a websearch if you're interested). They

can make a huge difference.

Rogene,

I'm not really sure if that's what I'm dealing with. It doesn't

impact my moods, I don't feel depressed in the winter, but if I've got

a health problem that's chronic, it's worse in the winter and then

suddenly in the spring and summer everything gets better. I guess

even if it's not impacting me on a mental level, perhaps the lack of

light impacts my immune system. I wonder if that's part of what SAD

is about, or is SAD just about being mentally depressed?

Hi Sis!

It could be that your immune system is weakened during the winter months,

mine sure is. I take immune building supplements during the winter months

only. I feel a lot stronger and healthier during the warmer weather.

This is especiallly true of lupus and MS. Heat can aggravate MS, and direct sun

can cause

sun sensitive rashes and make you sicker, if you have lupus.

Kenda, I think you're right. I was born with a weak immune system

anyway - my mother was pregnant with me and she went to her doctor

and told him he was tired. So, what did he do, he prescribed

amphetamines. She wasn't tired after that!! Those were the days

when you thought your doctor knew everything, and you did whatever

they told you. She was addicted to them for three years, and I was

born a little " speed baby " . As a kid I was always sick, and my

parents always figured it was because of the drugs that she was

given during her pregnancy. I'm sure this explains why I got sick

immediately from the implants, I was just adding insult to injury.

I sure can't wait until summer!!

Jenna - I just checked your pictures, and you look better now than

you did with implants. I am still waiting for the " fluff " . Mine

are pretty sad right now. There is breast tissue there, but they are

flattened, sort of off to the side and puckered. I don't think

about it too much - unless of course I go bra shopping, and that's

depressing. I can't find ANY bra that fits me right. Oh well.

Yeah, I've got a nice little set of flap-jacks going for me, but I'd

rather have this than the implants. I didn't have alot of breast

tissue to begin with, and have even less now, but I try not to let

it bother me. Dr. Feng said the tissue and muscle have to

redistribute, so I try not to spend alot of time dwelling on it.

I've got too many other distractions now, anyway, like trying to eat

right, and drink water, and pass my final exams!!

Hi Sis,

With some detoxing and immune building supplements, you could feel like a

different person! During the winter months, I take Defense Factors made by

Tyler, which is a nutritional, glandular and herbal support. I also take

Immune Builder made with Maitake Gold 404, which is a potent mushroom

supplement. It is made by JHS Natural Products. My ND prescribes the

Immune Builder to his cancer patients because it is so potent. I used to be

very sickly but am not any more. After I caught the flu three years ago, I

told him I didn't care what I had to take, I didn't ever want it again! So

far so good! I have to warn you, the Immune Builder is pricey but has been

very worth while for me. I hate being sick! :)

sis,

just wondering, after the tissue and muscle redistribute, will you

then have your original size breasts back?

Cosima, yes I think so - I mean they are pretty much the size they

were before, except the muscle is slightly indented and the doctor

said that will pop out over time. She said I can help the process

along by exercising my chest muscles. I was worried that there

would be alot of loose skin, but there really isn't. One thing I

like is that I have my old armpits back - when I first got the

implants my underarms were like tunnels - I couldn't believe how

deep they were, and I couldn't get everything when I shaved them.

Over time that improved, however since I'm small I always had flat

armpits and this was a really bizarre change for me.
