You should contact Dr Kolb and let her know you feel like the cipro

isn't working and tell her your new symptoms. She is best to

determine the reasons why you have these problems.Cipro is one of

the strongest antibiotics there is, but it may not be the right one

if it isn't working. Because it is so strong it can upset the

balance of bacteria in the vagina and cause yeast to grow,

especially if you were prone to it. That is the reason you are on

diflucan, I would let her know but make sure you don't miss a dose

of the diflucan.

I have never heard of breast implants causing cancer.

I was on a course of Cipro several weeks ago and was also prescribed

Diflucan along with it. The Diflucan was not enough to prevent a yeast

infection, but it did help. I was taking the Diflucan daily I added a

good probiotic along with it and that helped tremendously. Nystatin

suppositories are excellent too.

Also, if you are having allergic reactions to the Cipro you need to call

your doctor immediately, don't just tolerate it. Your reactions are pretty

strong, not just run of the mill upset stomach. Most doctors have an

emergency number to use over weekends, I wouldn't hesitate in contacting

yours.

If you have a systemic infection, you need to be on antibiotics, but this

doesn't sound like the right one for you. If you aren't getting better on

it, that's another indication that it probably isn't the right one.

Different antibiotics work on different types of bacteria, one drug doesn't

kill all bacteria. You've been on it several days, correct? I would have

thought you would have felt better in 3 to 5 days max.

Yes, I also use Nystatin suppositories when I get a yeast infection,

and even though you have to use them longer than Monistat (which is

in the same drug family as Diflucan) they are mild on my system.

Also, I think Dr. Kolb might prescribe the Diflucan for more than

just relieving a possible yeast infection that might come from the

Cipro, I think she prescribes it to also get rid of any yeast that

may have already been lurking in your body due to the implants.

Cosima,

I know you're horribly anxious right now . . . I don't

know what you do to calm yourself, but you really need

to find a way. . . There's dozens of ways, but only

you will know what works for you. All this anxiety is

making things worse.

You needn't worry about dying from cancer. You've made

the connection between your health problems and your

implants . . . Once your implants are out, you will

probably be on your way to living healthier than the

average woman. . . That will go a long, long way to

avoiding cancer or any of the other dread diseases.

Until you get your implants out, you're treading

water. . . You need to do whatever you can to stay

afloat until those toxic bags are out. Kenda is right

.. . . you may need a different antibiotic. What is

extremely important is that you keep drinking a LOT of

water. As these negative organisms die off, they must

be flushed or you will feel much worse.

You can use yogurt " down there " for quick relief from

a vaginal yeast infection.

I forget, when do you have your explant scheduled? . .

.. Any chance it can be moved up?

What you are experiencing is fairly normal for this

stage of the game. . . You'll get through it. Just be

good to yourself. Eat healthy! Get plenty of rest, and

relax!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
