Guest guest
I had outpatient surgery on Monday and no it did not cause me to flare in anyway. Though laying on there hard bed did cause me to have terrible back spasms!! I am having major surgery next Monday so when I get back home I can answer your question on that one. My therapist asked me if I thought having surgery the date I picked would push me over the edge into a major flare. I tend to have more problems around my monthly cycle and my surgery is schedule to happen about 5 days before my cycle starts. I told her pain is pain..I'd rather get it all out the way than drag this on. PLus I think the stress of anticipating surgery is more stressful for me than the surgery. Guest guest
hey all, just wondering if i need to buy any kind of special front closing sports bra for after the surgery like you do after you get implants put in. the doctor nor any of her staff ever mentioned having to do this. i'm assuming i'll be bandaged up during the whole time i have the drains. all my bras have no snaps or anything, i just put them on over my head but i guess i won't be able to lift my arms over my head anyway. but heck, i won't really need bras anyway. i don't want my drains just hanging free. that's just too creepy and uncomfortable. Guest guest
My PS gave me a photo of the front closure sport bra he recommends but I didn't have time to get to the place that sells them (my surgery came up very quickly) so I bought one that has a zipper in front. He didn't like that one. He said the reason he recommends " hook " enclosure is that if you want to, you can undo the bottom hook and be more comfortable. I finally did get the one he likes and he was right, of course. Just thought I'd pass that along, they are somewhat costly so buy the right one first I guess! Guest guest
Cosima, My doctor didn't tell me to get one before surgery, however I called prior to surgery and asked about it, and I was required to wear a sports bra for two weeks after my surgery. I woke up from surgery with a surgical bra on, and then once the drains were removed I was able to either continue wearing that one or wear a sports bra of my own. It was to help keep the swelling down, and I was lucky that I didn't have much swelling (thanks to the drains).
