Can't be all Mentors have exactly the same rupture rate, higher or no. Was former employee talking about silicone gel filled or saline? What years of manufacturing? What part of the implant (and which implants, which years of manufacturing) has the 'design flaw'? Thanks very much!
Guest guest
Stephany, I'd suggest doing a websearch for more info . . . Check " Mentor employee defective implants valve " etc. As I understand it, a former Mentor bioengineer designed a closure for gel implants to be shown to doctors and the public because the ones implanted are oily. This appears to be a relatively recent event on the implants Mentor is trying to get FDA approval on right now. . . Mentor is trying to trash the reputation of this man. . . hardly a surprise! Hugs, Rogene Ilena may be able to direct you to more specific information. --- stephsummer <stephsummer@...> wrote: > > > > > Thanks Ilena, > > ------------------------ > > > > 12/12/2005 > > > http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/12122005/maine/77621.htm > > > > > > As reported in The Washington Post. a former > employee > > of Mentor has gone public with two key allegations > > against the company. I didn't want to read the same stuff from years ago with the defective leaf valve. But those were for Mentor salines, iirc, so this is different anyway (b/c it's silicone filled). Yes, not surprising Mentor is trying to smear this former employee. One of my favorite movies is 'The Insider'. Saw it again last month and was reminded again how angry I get about these lies to us and other women (implants). Very thankful this Mentor employee has come forward. Thanks again.
