I think there are other forums where you can discuss your

experiences with alternative plastic surgery (i.e., liposuction,

tummy tuck, botox, etc.), and where you might find alot more women

willing to get into discussions about them. I am sure there are

just for lipo, or TT's or botox.

I really don't want to control the threads at all, but I do want us

to stay on a positive note and I can see where this other stuff can

get highly emotional and it leads to other intense debates, and that

is just not where I want our group to go. I think we've got enough

to handle with discussing the ins and outs of explant and how to

deal with the various symptoms of illness, doctors, insurance, FDA,

etc. Yeah, we can lighten up and talk about some other fun stuff,

but let's not forget that some women are suffering tremendously and

are in need of help. I think the last thing they want to talk about

is more elective plastic surgery when they can't even pay for

explant! I myself am just not interested in any other surgeries,

though I will definitely say that I care about how I look. I think

all of us want to feel good about our bodies and how attractive we

are to our mates, our loves ones, or simply when we walk out the

door. But that can be as much a mental effort as it is a physical

one. Healing takes both forms.

So, let's just focus on explant, and the aftermath of that surgery.

This other subject matter of how much value plastic surgery has to

society, what lengths we'll go to for beauty, and other similar

subjects can become highly debatable and emotional. It can take us

down some very ugly paths, as it has on our group before, and it

just isn't worth the aggravation.

Let's face it, everybody has their own opinion about whether or not

plastic surgery is right for them at this stage of the game. We are

all at different places in our plastic surgery experiences. Some are

just beginning to find out about the depth of the deception they've

experienced. Others are still learning, still angry. Others still

are over it and have moved on. Everybody is at some stage of

healing, but I think we need to be especially encouraging to those

who are going through really desperate times. It is a support group

for those who need help, so let's stay focused on that as our main

goal.

We didn't have anybody asking about botox or lipo or tummy tucks

before you came , and I didn't see anybody asking after you

came either. I'm not trying to be critical, just pointing out that

you've created the subject matter yourself, but I just don't think

this is the place for it.

I can appreciate your desire to be helpful and supportive to those

going through explant...that's great and I know they will all

appreciate the help. But again, nobody asked about the other

stuff....so keeping that in mind, can you stay on track with healing

from explant? Maybe you can even form a group for this other stuff

you want to talk about?

Thanks ,

Patty
