IDSA Lyme group targets our families

I just wanted to make the group aware of what the IDSA is doing. There are a group of people (infectious disease doctors) who have put together an organization called the American Lyme Disease Foundation. Unfortunately it is made up of the physicians who report our Lyme literate doctors, only prescribe the 2 weeks of antibiotics and love to put down any "outside the box" thinking.

They have targeted our organization on the website specifically. I'm only showing the group so that you are aware of what they are saying and will be prepared when other parents, family members and friends find this and can have an appropriate answer. This group has a MONETARY interest in proving that none of these other disease connections are connected. They are on pharmaceutical boards, NIH boards and were uncovered for dual interests and conflicts of interests in the movie Under Our Skin.

I'm not worried about the attack because at this stage of the game, I am used to it and it doesn't really phase me. But know that other parents who are newer on the journey and aren't used to researching things for themselves may just follow what they say because they were raised believing what their typical MD says. (as most of us were raised that way but have learned to make our own decisions out of necessity for finding answers for our children)

Here is the site: http://www.aldf.com/Misinformation_about_Lyme_Disease.shtml

I would encourage you to BOMBARD this organization with lengthy stories about your family, your child's diagnosis, etc. Do NOT mention any of your doctors names though.

Just know that what is missing from the DAN doctor education is the infection piece. They may talk about PANDAS and yeast and bad gut bacteria, but systemic chronic bacterial and viral infections is not discussed. It is out of FEAR. In one think tank it was announced to the DAN physicians that if they want to "lose their license" then they should treat for Lyme.
