911:: retention for 911 tapes -Reply

bet there is a CALEA standard for this, but here in Portsmouth NH we

keep them indefinitely- the tapes are cheap and dont take up much room.

Anyay, The " Chief " has assigned me the duty of finding out how long

different agencies hold their 911 tapes?

Is there a National Standard (which I have not located yet!!) or is it an

agency decision?? Any help would be

appreciation.
