Guest guest
There is such a thing as PSTD from having an illness and I do believe I have it. This is one reason some people find gupta amygdala retraining helpful. Trauma effects the amygdala (as will toxic and pathogenic assaults)which will them put your body and your mind in myperalert.. doesnt mean you are not experiencing what you are, but could mean that this diease is multi dimensonal and it doesnt hurt to address all aspects. I find mantras helpful, but when I am in panic mode as I have been lately and pining all over the place, reacting all over the place, I dont do them or listen to them much. Very soothing when I do. Planet Thrive has a gupta group and some are finding it helpful. I need to watch my DVD before I have to leave it behind.. to remind me and give me another focus. Guest guest
Tug, were you going to post the photos of the mold? I guess I don't know your entire situation, but you can get air and carpet samples done that would at least give a snapshot as to whether or not there are actual levels of mold in your environment. Spores are everywhere, but they don't become a problem without moisture. So even if your basement had some spores floating in it from the coils, you can still be without a problem. And you could have your house cleaned by an abatement company to ensure nothing happens. Right now, it sounds like you don't know whether you have a problem leftover from the AC, but are building disaster scenarios in your mind nonetheless. Try to move somewhere in your mind from emotion-laden responses to a place that balances facts and emotions. To do that, though, you need to have some facts. Right now, it's conjecture... I never really thought about post traumatic stress disorder but I cant tell you it does exist and I experience it every day. As much as I love living here all I can think about doing is running as far away from this place as possible due to the mold they found in the a/c coils but I have no guarantees that I'll be moving into a safe environment. I cant sign a lease because if I get sick in my new apartment than what? I looked into moving back into the hotel I was living in for 3 months and their rent has gone up almost $100.00 a month which I cant afford. As far as I know we dont have any more mold in the house but Im worried that whatever is in the air thats affecting me is affecting my puppy as well. Should I give her to a home that doesnt have any known mold issues, do I keep her and move into a place that takes small dogs? I have all these questions running through my mind right now but because Im not thinking clearly I hate to make the wrong decision which could make my situation worst but if I don't do something my health is only going to deteriorate. I can see why so many move to warmer climates and live out of their cars, at least there they know their safe. Tug
Guest guest
Dave, I'm not a doc, but if I were you I would take a few deep deep breaths, try not to panic, there is no " perfect " , you are in pretty good, stay, calm down, then focus on trying to better understand what is triggering reactions for you, is the formaldehyde in new sofa? a little lingering mold, keep at your detective job right where you are, w/GF, keep the puppy, that puppy love is good for your health, also takes you out of yourself a bit which is good...as you learn more you will discover and rid yourself of other toxic stuff besides mold (like the dryer sheets, perfume, etc) No guarantee you'll find a safe car, just try staying still and staying put for a while....also the puppy may not be mold susceptible, ours isn't sick and has lived his whole life in our house that is so toxic the docs and Dr. Thrasher told us to get out, all of us... Then try and line up a safe car just in case with weather change the house becomes unbearable, then you can pack a suitcase and head south for the winter. My 3 cents....
