Guest guest
Hello, Thanks for the support and encouragement. I got the approval letter from the insurance company today. My problem is this: first, when I had a deviated septum at 23, the PS told me I needed a chin implant because my face was asymetrical, I had no self-esteem and agreed to do it. My neurologist recommeded that I get the breast implants as-well-as the chin implant removed, but because I couldn't afford to do both I only charged the breast implant removal surgery. So today, the letter from the insurance company said they would pay for BOTH. Should I have the chin implant removed, too? Second, when I went to my PS on Thursday, he said that the hospital pathology tested for mold/fungus and bacteria and everything came back negative. Do I retrive my implants and send them on to Dr. Blais? And the hospital told me the day of my surgery that I wouldn't be able to have them back because they were a bio-hazard. What do I say to get them to give them without a stink? Lastly, before I had the implants taken out I had the natural MD's nurse draw blood for a silicone sensitivity test through immunoscience labs in California. When I got the test back it said that my test was within the normal range for antibodies, the range is 0-10 and mine was at 10, does that mean that because I had saline implants that my test was borderline abnormal? I'm going to call the lab soon to see if I can get some understanding of this. My natural doc wasn't sure how to read the test because he has never had anyone take it. Any help would greatly be appreciated... Thanks and God Bless, Carol
Guest guest
Dear Carol, Chin implants have caused problems, as well as breast implants. A woman I have met through the forums became very ill from chin implants. If it were I, knowing what I know now, I would remove both. Of course, that is your decision and only you can determine whether or not you want to risk keeping them. If you are already showing high range for silicone, then you should seriously consider what your tests may be a year or more from now, if you don't remove both. Especially since insurance will cover it.... Sounds to me like you have a very smart neurologist. > > Hello, > Thanks for the support and encouragement. Guest guest
Carol, Personally, I would go for both! . . . Perhaps they can use a bone graft for your chin if necessary. I've seen reports of women having problems from chin implants only! . . . sometimes they are found to be in small pieces! As far as the PS's report of your implants being OK . .. . I don't believe it! . . . They find what they look for, and if they don't run the right tests, they won't find it. Dr. Blais' tests take days, not minutes. They should give your your implants . . . They are yours . . . you bought and paid for them. If they are considered a bio hazard, they can package them in a sealed container. . . Without added chemicals! Bio-hazards are moved about all the time. . . And if, as they claim, there were no pathogens found . . then how could they be hazardous? I suspect we're stepping on some toes by getting these things checked out and the powers-that-be are pushing back! . . . We've got to do everything possible to win this one! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
