Guest guest
Lauri, I have the same book and yes it is a great book However I have 1 even better than that one it's called Fibromyalgia & Chronic Myofascial Pain A Survival Manual Second Adition. It has 28 Chapters and 3 Appendix! It's a WONDERFUL book but it goes into great detail about things from a medical standard. So without having some medical background it might be hard for some to understand. I would recomend it to the one's who have been suffering for so many years you pretty well know the medical launguage by heart LOL to the ones who do have any type medical practice even if it was just an assistant nurse. You will learn a WHOLE NEW WORLD of how to deal with fibro! ALL need to know that when they leave you to talk to another be it family or other medical staff: it IS NOT that they are hiding things from you they are working on a play stratagey that they can use with you right down to language that you would understand. Some of these medial terms are so simple but sound so scarry. And they want to take the scary out for you! LOL They don't even fully understand it as well because it's a very complex diease. That is why they leave to talk with thier coulleges bebore they know how to approch you for they want it to be as tender a diagnoisis as is possibble because if they can right out and told you that you had a bad legg and you probably wouldn't be able to move it for after a month or two that you would be in a wheel chair. Then in the alotted time you would probably be in that Wheel Chair. At least 75% of you would. And just because the Doctor said you Would?????? Did you decide that it was for you and fight them or did you just accept thier say so and go for the easy way out the chair???? They said I would be in a chair when I was 30 at the latest but here I am at 46 finally letting then get me one. However ONLY for days I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!!!! I know on some things like the doc said I have too come to terms and grips with HEY WOLF YOU HAVE FIBRO DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!! And The Lord has been showing me lately that I DO need that chair. I have had at least 5 or 6 falls this last week. Showing me if I had a chair I could probably avoided these falls. The first one I had gotten up to go potty and leg gave way totally. Hit my head hard am oretty sure from signs I had a bad concusion! Then I hit my head hard in desk and yea keyboard so now I have a HUGE knot on my head. I fell again from potty time, same as first got up to NO LEG or FOOT! Fell hit the sink across my head & the bridge of my nose so I have a nice sweelled up nose and a bruiese and even bigger knott on forehead!. So this week I have had to come to the conclusions that hey I can't walk right now so YES I do need them right now. Even the walker would make it easier. Mike has been so pactient with me and we haven't done anything we had planned to do. Tonight we had it planned to go to a Seminar To Stop Smoking and Loose Weight. I had been to one in the past and it didn't faze me but try try again right? I was told that I could not be hypnotized. Because I kept my brain to close to the surface from worry about the children and such that they can't put me deep under I just won't go no matter how hard they try. She had problems with elaberateing how it workes! But didn't make it and now I'm phening and want to kill hubby who never said a word about being out before the store closed. I'm gonna kill him in the morn. Love & God Bless! /Wolf~President I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.
