Re: looking into a far infrared sauna

Hi Jeanne,

I have a HealthMate Far Infrared sauna in my bedroom and I love it.

I believe that using a sauna is a very healthful thing to do, and is

an investment that you will have your lifetime and will appreciate

over and over again.

Here is a link for HealthMate, the brand that I recommend. It is

incredibly easy to assemble, and the company worked with me to get

the best deal and it has wonderful ammenities. If you do look into

one, I would suggest getting one as large as you can afford. While

you normally sit in them, sometimes I find myself wanting to lie

down and that is hard to do in a cramped space!

My experience was that while I was first very ill and suffering with

brain fog, my sauna made it worse and I had to go very slow and cut

back actually. Then when I started using it again, I wrapped my head

in a wet towel first, kept the temperature lower rather than higher,

and stayed in no longer than 30 minutes. It is best to work up in

time rather than to try to sweat up a storm each session from the

beginning.

Hope this helps you!

I purchased a Thera Sauna two years ago and it has been great. I

went to www.promolife.com and I have been very happy--no problems.

It was easy to set up and get going. I used it many times a week

for awhile but need to start up again. It definitely improved my

circulation. I copied the following from the website I mentioned:

1. Thera Sauna is the only IR saunas made with non-toxic Sitka or

Clear Aspen Wood.

Sitka wood is used to make masts of ships, airplanes, guitars,

wooden utensils and is regarded non toxic when heated, produces NO

odor or taste and is very strong and flexible.

2. Thera Sauna is the only IR sauna with full 100% ceramic infrared

emitters.

3. Thera Sauna is the only IR sauna whose infrared emitters emit the

majority of its wavelength between 8 and 12 microns.

4. Thera Sauna is the only IR sauna whose thermostat does not

completely shut off when the control setting reachs the desired

temperature. (the controls reduce the wattage to the infrared

heaters instead of completely shutting the current off). This

results in a much more consistent temperature for you to enjoy your

sauna.

5. Thera Sauna is the only sauna that uses FDA approved emitters.

And TheraSauna is pending FDA approval as a therapeutic far infrared

sauna.

Hope this information is useful to you.

Hugs,kathy

I have the same HealthMate as Patty . . .I agree that

it's wonderful! . . . And, if I were to do it over

again and could afford it financially, and space-wise,

going big would be great!

Often times I'd love to just lay down and relax. There

is just room enough for my feet to be outstretched

while sitting sideways on the bench.
