Yes, the medical portion of the insurance would take care of the coinsurance as long as Medicare is primary and the plan coordinates benefits w/ Medicare.

For immunos covered under Part B, isn't the remaining 20% to be billed to the patient's secondary medical plan?My situation is: patient has Medicare (A,B,D) primary, BC/BS of IL secondary, and IL Cares RX additionally. Shouldn't the BC/BS of IL be picking up the 20% for immunos at the pharmacy?

I am finding that most plans will not

reimburse the pharmacy quickly enough or will only do paper billing so the

patient pays the 20% copay and then sends that to their commercial plan for

reimbursement. If the patient has a deductible with their commercial plan,

they often have to meet that deductible first before their plan will reimburse

the 20%.
