" My numbers are running anywhere from 105-120 in the am and lower in the

pms. "

I know I am new to this but that sounds great to me. Is that without

medication?

" Oh yea I also live with the food police......he use to be my

husband.....now he is just the guy that eats ice cream in front of me

with

the big gut. "

Me too and I am frustrated and scared also but with all that I am

determined to work on this. 2 1/2 pounds is alot and it is a start. I

have already (two weeks) about 6-7 pounds and am exercising regularly. I

walk every night or go to the gym in the morning. I live in Florida and

it is already hot at night but I guess I will sweat a little. Can't wait

for the mosquito's to come out.

Just keep doing what you are doing. It sounds right and you are really

headed in the right direction. Good Luck and keep us all posted.

Dear ,

To answer your question of medication. The doctor put me on 2 1/2 mg of

micronace morning and evening. My numbers dipped down to the 60's not

fun....scarry. So he took me off the meds and I have to report to him with

my numbers via phone every two weeks.

Right now since I have been able to get my numbers down; with in the

last two weeks I can tell when I have eaten something I shouldn't. I get a

little light headed and dizzy.....when I check my numbers have gone up some.

Will this straighten out as I continue to eat properly?

I agree... 2 1/2 pounds IS important because A) it's 2 1/2 pounds in the

correct direction and B) It demonstrates to you that YOU can do it.

Just a couple ideas I had while reading your note:

1. I keep a daily diary (Excel spreadsheet) with columns for fasting, 2 hr

after breakfast, before lunch, 2 hr after lunch, 3pm, before supper, 2 hr.

after supper, after exercise and after snack and I fill in whichever cells I

take readings for. The sheet also keeps AM & PM blood pressure and pulse

numbers. I have a little Omron computerized BP device (about $70).

The sheet provides data that I take to the doctor and dietitian to show

what's been happening and, more importantly, whenever I get my hemagoblins

out of balance I pull out my spreadsheet, and look at my progress and

realize that I AM improving my health.

2. I'd feel pretty good about the 105-120 BG's you're now seeing.

3. I'd tell Gutzilla you could use his help during this difficult

time.Seeing the food you aren't eating being consumed by him doesn't make it

easier for you...and you may even resent him for it.

4. Pace yourself on the weight loss.. I got into a rhythm of about 3 pounds

a week and felt good looking back over the weeks. No particular 3 pounds

made a difference but they all did when I looked at it over time.

5. Exercise...exercise...exercise...

Take care,

I do not know the answer to your question. I am not on medication and

the morning numbers are 133-138 or so. Your numbers are in the normal

range (I think, but don't know really). The meds really brought them

down, didn't they but that was too low.The reason I asked was because I

think they are going to put me on medication on Saturday. I have only

been doing this for a few weeks but I am sure someone else could answer

that question. I hope anyway.

Cynthis..are you taking a lot of glucophage? It affected me the same way!

passed. Toni

Glucophage (Metformin HCl) is famous, or infamous, for causing GI upset, i.e.,

diarrhea, constipation, gas, etc., sometimes explosively. For this reason, most

people go on a small doseage until their systems get used to the drug and then

they titrate their dosage upward. Thereaputic dosage is thought to be 1.5g/day

or

more. Lots of good drug information at http://www.rxlist.com/ .

Hi Marshall,

I am just one of the Type II's who frequent this board.

I think we draw inspiration from the Type I's on this board as they are where

we may some day be. Besides that, they are very good at sharing knowledge.

Nice to have you join us.

Just some quick words. I'm new to this mailing list thing so I hope this is

getting posted to everyone. First, Hi, I'm Marshall. I'm a type I, diagnosed 3

years but realistically, I've been hyperglycemic all my life. (hindsight is

20/20) I'm 27 years old but I feel like 80 sometimes. I have some advanced

neuropathy, i.e. I have almost no feeling from the waist down. It is in check

now that I have control, and I can still walk. So, I thank God for that. Most

of you seem to be t2's, but you will all become insulin dependent someday. The

better you take care now the longer you can prolong the inevitable. I wish I

had known I was destroying my pancreas with all the Hostess and Mountain Dew.

Anyway, enough whining. Things are good for me now.

Second, I have read a couple of messages that talked about colas.

Diet root beer and diet 7up are usually the favorites as diet Pepsi/coke

seems to have a horrible aftertaste. Well, no one seems to have mentioned Pepsi

ONE. I don't know what it is sweetened with, but no sugar/carbs, one calorie,

low sodium, and believe it or not, it actually tastes pretty good. My roommate

and one of my best friends both drink it and don't mind. (if I buy diet they

won't touch it.)

Well, that's enough for now. Hope I haven't bored any one.

Sincerely

Marshall " Mrv " Caley

Oh No Sweetie,

You may have missed it but Honey we welcomed you to the group it was in with some others because we try to do several at a time so every other e-mail is not a new memeber mail. But Sweetie PLEASE don't leave us! We love, care and value you as a member. I am sorry that all of us officials are VERY sick at the moment so we are slow right now! But sweetie please reconsider. I sent one mass mail welcoming all the new members because I was so far behind that no way I could do each induvidually. Sweetie since you were directly subed by Tammi we have no way of unsubbing you if that's what you realy want all we could do if it comes to it is set you at no mail, but Sweetie please don't leave us, give us a chance to show you our hospitality, I am sorry you missed the welcome and that Tammi and I have both been down so bad and haven't really taken care of things as we normally do. But we do care about you, how you are feeling, and just plain you in general Hun! Please let me know what you do decide and I will try to take care of it. And if you stay Hun and you get overwhelmed by the amount of mail let me know and we can fix that! (((((((((((Louise))))))))))))) sorry for the cross up Hun I hope you stay and we can get to know you better and become great friends.

Love & God Bless!

/Wolf

Dear ,

It is important that you contact Child Find of Broward who will in turn connect you with the Early Intervention Program.  If eligible, your daughter can recieve several interventions including speech, occupational, and physical therapies.  In addition, we have professionals who assist with cognitive development and behavioral concerns.  Many of us are very experienced working with the autistic population.  In addition, once connected to early intervention, your child will automatically be "in the system" which will facilitate transition into educational settings.  The # to call is .  Feel free to contact me directly with any other questions.  We also recommend contacting the CARD center.  Hope this gets you started!!

Hi all,

I just wanted to say how happy I am to be part of this group. I

look forward to getting to know you all, and even being able to vent

from time to time.

I am a respiratory therapist, working in a Neonatal intensive care

unit in florida. I am curious as to perhaps how other medical

professionals juggle work and fibromyalgia.

Talk to ya all soon,

sapphire
