Guest guest
Hi, I also had mine explanted almost three weeks ago. It will be three weeks Friday. How long did you keep tapes on? What about the sports bra? Are you still sleeping in yours? (I slept on my stomach for some of last night, propped a bit by pillows but it's been years since I could sleep comfortably on my stomach.) I had so many questions that I asked at my last appt, that I can't remember eveything he said. He gave me more tapes to replace after showers etc. and they are almost gone, so I guess when they are gone I won't have to wear them anymore. They itch like crazy. I am seeing nipples again, not all flat like right after the surgery, so I think the " fluffing out " as they call it on the support site, is underway. I get funny little pains which must be part of the healing process. Care to share any other tidbits, I'm hungry for stories. Guest guest
Hi Charlotte! I was told by the PS that took out my stitches 1 week after surgery and removed my drains to leave the tape on my nipples until they literally fall off. As of Sunday, they all fell off. My nipples are dark so I do have a thick pink scar ring around my nipple as well as some puckering. The puckering was horrible at the beginning...day by day it is getting better. Most of my scabs have falled off. I just continue to put Vitamin E on them every day and at night I put this antibiotic cream that my Dr. gave me with some gauze over it. I find myself waking up in the middle of the night on my side. Never on my tummy yet. They are still sore and I get shooting pains once in a while in them. I am assuming that is just the tissue healing and fluffing. I do have one black stitch still sticking out of my right nipple. I tried to pull it out with a tweezer but it is stuck in there really good. i am going to email dr. kolb to get some suggestions about that. I have been wearing a sports bra around the house, or one of those built in bra tanks. They are more comfortable and very supportive. When I go out I have been wearing a regular underwire bra. It doesn't bother me because my scars were strictly around my nipples. As for my health, feeling much better. I got my appetite back but did have a couple migraines still as well as some tingling in my hands. I was assuming right after they were taken out that Zap....all my health problems would dissapear, but I am learning that it will take time and to be patient. I am feeling much better then before and my hair loss has stopped which is great! You can email me as well if you have more questions! My pics are on the shutterfly and I am going to put some updated ones on there soon! Take care and a I hope you are feeling well. Be patient with the tape! Guest guest
Thanks Jenna, What's shutterfly? I have been looking for photos but don't see a lot of them, mostly I see the explanted implants and groups of get together photos. I don't have removable stitches. I hope that doesn't mean I have to keep these tapes on longer > > > > > > > > Hello ladies, > > > > Thank-you for responding to my questions about Dr. Kolb. > If > > > anyone > > > > has else has used Dr. Kolb. Guest guest
My pics are under the Album 1 implant/explant group. I think my pics are the last 4 pics added. As for the stitches, I don't know why Dr. Kolb used the kind she did on me. My original implant stitches stayed in as well and just eventually dissapeared. I would have rather had those kind! Mine were gross and when the PS in Columbus removed them it hurt very bad! I think you are better off with the stitches you have! I will add an updated photo the that album in a couple mins so you can see the diff. between last week and this week. It is quite amazing, just think how diff. they will look in a month! Guest guest
Jenna, That is interesting about the stitches. I wondered the same thing myself. I too had a PS locally remove the stitches and wondered why she did not use disolvable stiches. I never got around to asking her what reason she may have had for this... > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello ladies, > > > > > > Thank-you for responding to my questions about Dr. > > Kolb. > > > If > > > > > anyone > > > > > > has else has used Dr. Kolb. Guest guest
It is strange. The wierd thing is that they are the same on the inside for when she did the lift. Some other girls that have gone to her have actually had the inside stitches poke thru there skin. I guess they look like a clear fishing line and if they do poke thru you need to pull them out. I haven't had that happen to me personally, and I hope I never do! That is just too much for me. I almost passed out trying to pull the dark one out! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello ladies, > > > > > > > Thank-you for responding to my questions about Dr. > > > Kolb. > > > > If > > > > > > anyone > > > > > > > has else has used Dr. Kolb. Guest guest
I'm sorry Jenna - I must be going to the wrong place. I am clicking on " photos " (that column to the left of messages) then I get 22 " albums " - none of them say Jenna on them, there is a Dr.Feng patient number 9....Should I be looking somewhere else? I am very interested in seeing how others are progressing, especially you, Jenna since we had ours out at the same time.--- I enter the site at the message postings. Should I go to a different page to start? If you don't know what I'm talking about I will take that as an immediate sign that I am in the wrong area. Thanks, Charlotte , " Jenna " <jgalatis@c...> wrote: > > My pics are under the Album 1 implant/explant group. I think my pics > are the last 4 pics added. Guest guest
Michele, I'm sorry that I have not replyed sooner, I haven't been online in a few days, and I'm trying to catch up on post reading. To answer your question, my breast look a whole lot better than I expected. Dr. Kolb said I was too sick for up lift so I was a liitle concerned over appearence. The swelling has went down a whole lot since surgery and yes my breast do sag a bit, probably about as much as a normal 44 yr. old would look. Dr. Kolb was able to leave some tissue due to my weight gain. I know I am so ready to just deal with sagging, (we have so many options in bras now a days that I'm not too worried) and one day I may get the uplift, but right now I'm so estatic over explanting and getting some of my health back on track that feeling better is my top priority. And I'm Thankful of surviving the surgery itself. I requested a C cup implant when I was implanted and the PS decided I would look good DD. Yes I was so unhappy with that large of implants but, there was no way I was going through another implant surgery so I just had to accept them. Needless to say after being implanted I could not play tennis as much due to the size of them. So being smaller and less weight on my chest feels great compared to before explant. I'll tell you this, I will NEVER implant again, no matter what my breast look like. I know so many who explant end up re-implanting. Not this 'ole girl! I'm sorry I can't remember have you explanted? How long have you been sick. Refresh me on your situation. Take Care, a
