Guest guest
, I have never given you any advice of any kind, you are free to do as you please. Additionally I don't claim to be very educated on what is good for anyone, never have. If you choose to use a silicon based product on your skin and you like it, great. A lot of women here have mentioned their reactions to silicon and therefore they shouldn't use it. Personally, I would never dream of putting any type of foundation on my skin, but that's just me. Finally, it's very typical of young guys to hit on older women. It's part of growing up. Guest guest
I think this thread brings up an important issue, the deep complexity of female identity and worthiness. As women, we are constantly bombarded with societal messages, that to be appreciated we must be beautiful in a narrowly proscribed way: we must be youthful, with unlined, smooth skin, an hourglass figure, not an ounce of fat, etc. It's difficult to focus on "inner beauty" when our culture refuses to acknowledge how naturally beautiful we really are. We each have our individual methods for coping with this pressure. Some of us have found a way to love ourselves and our bodies as they are, albeit after a vast amount of suffering. Others still feel the pressure to alter their bodies to fit society's expectations, something all of us can understand. After all, didn't most of us pay exhorbitant fees to have some butcher cut us open and insert nasty toxic aliens into our bodies? We were all forced to take the implants out because we were sick, but how many of us can honestly say we would have taken them out otherwise? After living in Hell for the past year, I am pretty turned off by plastic surgery, but I can't say I will never use it again on my body. And I do like make-up and artsy clothes, which are enhancements, just like implants. I'm not a puritan. I believe it is important to be compassionate and nonjudgemental towards every woman, regardless of her decisions. We have the opportunity to set an example for other women, how to be beautiful in a deep, passionate, soulful way. xo Melinda Re: Kathy? Bare Essentials? --- I dont write very often, mostly when i have questions and need some support but i always read the posts. I thought the purpose of this group was to be supportive. None of us share the exact same opinions, so we shouldnt pass judgement. Arnt we all here because at one point we passed a judgment on ourselves. I wear makeup and so do alot of women, i wish my skin would allow me not to, but i am still healing. We are all women and at one point or another enjoy some attention, we did all get implants. The point is that i thought we came to this site to help eachother, not make others feel bad or stupid for how they are or the decisions they make. I enjoy and appreciate the help some women have given me but for now could i please be removed from the list. Guest guest
Well, ...when you get my age you certainly want to look as good as possible. At any age, really. So an admiring glace from the opposite sex dosn't hurt now and then. However...still have to watch the glances...might just be noticing smeared lipstick or something. As for being hit on...probably wouldn't know what to do about that... It seems funny to me that women like to be attractive and to get all fixed up and then when a guy advances, we say."Whoa!!!" Anyway, , have a good day. Hugs, Shirley carrie41_fun <carrie41_fun@...> wrote: Hey Shirley I know how you feel.
