Guest guest
I learned a valuable lesson this morning - the need to stay calm! The usual Saturday morning grocery shopping was a nightmare. Long lines at the checkouts so I went off in search of a supervisor to complain and ask for more checkouts to be opened. He told me he was aware of the situation and asked me what I expected him to do. With that remark I completely lost it and told him he should be doing his job. By the time I got home I was shaking, I took some more h/c but the fatigue hit before the benefits of the h/c kicked in and now I feel completely fatigued. Before that I thought I was on the road to wellness. Apparently not, however I will learn to keep my cool no matter what, losing it is going to cost me even more of my life Lynda C
Guest guest
Sorry, your adrenals are still so weakened. A lady at the grocery store today picked me to be her second victim in the coffee line. I found myself suddenly shaking too. We need to give ourselves lots of space and TLC alot with our stress-doses, I think. Some extra salt and vitamin C, a little extra protein and a dollop of coconut oil, um, what else can you think of that we can use to get back on track? A nap? A funny movie? How about a Hug! .... Guest guest
Hmmmm, this reminds me!!! Things were going really well this week... But then Monday morning I had to talk to Sprint... grrrrr, 1 hour and them suggesting someone broke into my house to go online on my phone, I lost it and hung up... I was all refreshed when I woke up and ready to embrace the day and get much done. Nope. After the call I laid down on the couch and fell into a deep sleep for 3 hours. I was burned out from just the call. I have been taking 2 steps forward 10 steps back for a long time... so this 4 steps forward a 1/2 step back had even left my mind until I read this. Life will always have bumps in the road... we just have to learn to slow down for them and approach them gently as not to bump our heads. My gawd!!! I never would talk like this before. I never gave anything like this the time of day. I was in a band for 7 years and toured the world as well as a stylist... hair and make up (for big photographers) and always went 100 mph!!! It was all about what I could do and how much and how fast... Now it's all about slowing down and smelling the flowers!!! and it's really o.k., I'm not missing out on anything... (again my disclaimer... this has been a 5 year process of bumping my head over and over and over)!!! ; ) Be well, Pamela Mateosian wrote: Sorry, your adrenals are still so weakened. Guest guest
Something I learned at a grooming seminar would really apply to all of us. It is called QTIP.. Quit Taking It Personally! While I learned it in the realm of grooming and dealing with clients that do not understand my job, it can be applied to every aspect of my life.. especially the most stressful aspects.. family! It is like now I can put their snide remarks in a closet like they were meant for the person they think I am as they don't know me anymore at all. Very few people know the real me! Mainly my online friends and a few folks I have gotten close to here in WV, the rest of the world just sees a weird cat lady! Guest guest
Of Isocort??? I am not familiar with the stress dosing, but ready to learn!!! wrote: >>I was all refreshed when I woke up and ready to embrace the day and get much done. Nope. Guest guest
Yes you can stress dose with Isocort or HC. I often have to at work. Like when a dog is BAD & tries to bite, I will often get really shaky, so shaky my scissors are dangerous! LOL I pop an extra 5MG HC and it is gone in minutes. I try to not do it often but when I am shaking like a leaf or nauseous, it is better to take the extra and stop it than t allow my body to go through that stress. Also when taking either HC or Isocort, you should carry extra with you at all times! If in a car accident you WILL need extra. When your adrenals are trashed as so many of ours are they can't produce the large doses of cortisol needed for extreme stresses, like a car accident (or even a near accident can sometimes be too much) a huge argument, or anything that really stresses you to the point of shaking badly. I also wear a medical alert bracelet at all times to alert medical personnel that I take HC so they know to give me MORE should I be in an accident where i am not able to take extra myself. I also carry a card in my wallet that tells these people what meds I am on & I just leave the doctor info blank.. Guest guest
You got it, . Most of the stuff that goes on and stresses out is not about us in any way. It's hard to learn and remember and act on that, but it's right. And those of us who know you, love you for who you are--a beautiful, kind, loving woman. Guest guest
You mean you don't have "know of any" printed in the doctor part??? ha ha ha!!! That is a great idea. So this is something that is medically recognized as far as you have experienced? I would ask you how did I end up in ER and at my doc's so many times with them clueless and the whole time it was adrenal shock, but that would just be redundant!!! My next question... if you take extra for a really stressful situation. Is that just taking your next dose early or taking extra for your daily dosage total... I hope that made sense. In other words, a bad stressor occurs. I take an extra 5 mg of isocort... do I not take my evening dose? or dose as usual??? Thanks Miss . Pamela wrote: Yes you can stress dose with Isocort or HC. Guest guest
thanks! I really thought that I had strengthened my adrenals enough to start weaning off adrenal support. I was previously taking 5mg pred but a few weeks ago I started weaning off and until yesterday was taking 2.5mg pred plus 5mg h/c I was doing it that way because 2.5mg is the smallest I can get in pred and adding the h/c is easier because I can cut it into smaller pieces. After that incident yesterday (all of my own making, I admit!) I ended up taking double the daily dose but I was still in pain all day. I intend to take a bit extra today and then tomorrow I'll try to go back to what I was taking last week. I don't know, I may be one of those people who have to take it for life. My adrenals have been extremely stressed for a very long time Lynda C Re: I need to learn to stay calm Sorry, your adrenals are still so weakened. Guest guest
I forget where I heard, or read it, but the possibility of autoimmune adrenal issues doesn't seem that remote to me. If adrenal support is for the rest of my life -- I hope it's a very long time. I know I had run out of options without it. period. no Armour or no adrenal support = end game. I'm in this game come what may. Sometimes there are just too many toxic people in my way - sometimes it's only one - me. I hope there's enough Armour and adrenal support for me to learn to be part of the solution - most of the time... .... ;o) thanks!
