Guest guest
Thanks Lea . . . This is an incredible insight to the implant debacle. I wonder how much of this has been published by the media? I think they would be very interested to see how they've been had! Sadly, breast cancer women are the worst candidates for breast implants! - Rogene Quote: " This is an extremely well-organized, well-connected and powerful group of activists. " Dow/Grass Roots Research I have contacted the following for information regarding breast cancer organizations/support groups: - Y-ME - National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations - American Cancer Society - Reach For Recovery - American Medical Association - Society for the Study of Breast Disease - G. Komen Foundation - Northwestern Memorial Hospital - The Health Learning Center - Northwestern University We're off to a great start -- I've attached location listings from Y-ME, American Cancer society's volunteer program -- Reach For Recovery and National Alliance of Breast Cancer organizations (NABCO). My findings when speaking with the above is that Y-ME, the NABCO organizations and Reach For Recovery seem to be the most frequently mentioned support groups. Reach For Recovery is an American Cancer Society volunteer program which arranges for volunteers to visit cancer patients while they are in the hospital. The volunteers are matched to the patients according to age, type of surgery and type of treatment procedures. The Health Learning Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is also sending a brochure listing their recommendations as they do not have a support group of their own. I'll continue my research -- the Northwestern brochure will certainly be a great help. I'll also begin researching major cancer hospitals. cc: S Seligman ------------------------------------------------------ EXHIBIT BM 002807 JUN-26-91 WED 11:14 P.01 Y-ME LOCATIONS (5/14/91) NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS: CHAPTERS: Illinois: California: (S.F. Canal Chicago, IL 60606 Dear : Enclosed are the women's support group and Congressional letters. As you requested, we made mock-ups of the three types of personalized letters we talked about. I expect you'll fax copies back to me once you re-input them. Also, I need to find out from you if it will be possible to personalize the women's support group letters the way we talked about. We want the contact name (if there is one) and address at the top of each letter, but we only want a salutation if there is a contact name. This might be tricky, so we need to talk about it. Finally, I've attached copies of the signatures for your signers to consider. Talk to you soon.
