Guest guest
Hi All, I am new to this group. I not only suffer from fibromyalgia but I alo suffer from chronic pancreatitis. Anothe very debilitating desease which also causes severe pain. In May of 2003 I had a very serious surgery. They removed 3/4 of my pancrea. This also causes fatigue and lack of energy. I have had this diesease since 1986. The fibromyalgia just adds to the misery. I take strong narcotics just to make it out of bed. Somedays, I wonder why bother. I have my good days and bad days-mostly bad days. I am glad that I found a group that is so full of imformation. Thanks! During my surgery I lost 60 lbs in less than 3 months. I was in the hospital for 12 days with tubes coming from everywhere! It was pretty scarey, but the good thing was it wasn't cancerous. I have two daughters-one 29 yrs old who has given me a beautiful 3 yr old granddaughter. I also have a 22 yr old daughter who also has given me abeautiful 1 1/2 yr old and is due to have a little boy in May. I have had to go on disability due to my panccreas problems. It also causes great fatigue, depression and pain. They have me on duresgesic patches to try to keep the pain at an even keel. Well, so much for all the babbling! Thanks again for listening to all of my problems. I'm sure there are many more of you out there that are worse off than I am! Write Back, Please! Guest guest
Dear Donna, Welcome to our humble list. You have certainly been through the wringer, so to speak, having a double dose of pain with the pancreatitis as well as the fibro` Like you, I have my good pain days and my bad ones, and not to complain, my bad ones seem to outnumber the good ones at least 3 to 1. I am on Oxycontin 40 mg. twice a day with Lortab for the breakthrough pain. Am out of Lortab at the present time, although I do have a prescription at the pharmacy that my doctor called in yesterday. Only problem is that I won't have the money to pick it up until Monday, so will just have to suffer til then. If the pain gets too bad, I will send Elwyn to write a check for it, since we have overdraft protection on our bank account, but it will have to get pretty bad before I will be willing to shell out that $25 fee that the bank charges for an overdraft that they pay. I also take a lot of other medications, which I listed in a previous message that I posted this morning, so won't go into that again. I pray that the Duragesic patch will prove to be a miracle drug for you. hugs and prayers, Sharon Faith...with it, miracles *CAN* and *DO* happen! Guest guest
Welcome Donna, A pleasure to have you join us !!! Babble?? LOL I think some of our greatest ideas come from our 'Babbles' so babble away. And no one is worse off than ourselves. OY bad grammer but it's late and my brain closes at 10 pm. LOL That's why we search and find these groups and choose the ones that are right for us individualy. This is a top notch group that not only wants to hear of our problems but encourages us to relate our experiences both the good and bad. Past, present, and future treatment successes and failures including meds, Dr's. You have a beautiful family. God has blessed you. I'm 53 and still waiting for my first granchild. I have two grown children too. Ty is 26 and a x-ray tech, Tina is 22 and is struggling with fibro and where she fits in this life she has that seems so overwhelming to her, esp. when she feels like it's moe than she can handle also. I have a beautiful husband, whom I've been married to for 18 years. They are my reason to get up every day and face what each day brings good or bad. I also have twoo of the worlds most beautiful cats names Kobi-7 and Kali-2 With my children grown they ARE my children. I think I just missed you at chat tonight. Looking forward to getting to know you and yours. Just Me, k > Hi All, > I am new to this group. I not only suffer from fibromyalgia but I > alo suffer from chronic pancreatitis.
