Guest guest
They have a new type of fat transfer surgery now - microsurgery. Instead of doing a lipo-like procedure, where they extract fat and inject it. With Microsurgery the remove fat from the donor site with a blood supply attached. Then they attach it to a blood supply at the receipent site. It's a lot more successful than the old surgery. However, only doctors trained to do microsurgery should do it. . . Regular plastic surgeons aren't doing it. With the old procedure, the fat liquified and disappeared. Rogene
Guest guest
---Lynda, I am in Atlanta. I haven't checked but I don't think Dr. is on the list. But I did find out about him through saline support, a link was given to a segment on some TV magazine show. I've gone to see him and he has been doing this for 20 years, seems to be the expert on it and has developed his own technique for harvesting the fat without damaging any and putting it in many small pockets, and layering it very slowly so all of it has a blood supply. He says his patients lose 0%. He also seems to be able to get more fat even from people who aren't overweight. But I still want to do all my homework and find out anything I can, I don't want to make another mistake with my health. I plan to speak with him over the phone on Monday and ask how it is that he can get more fat than other doctors, I will forward the answer then. Guest guest
I was told at the time of my explant that fat transfers don't work and that the fat will just disappear in time. I am sure many women would love to transfer their excess fat to their breasts, but questions remain about the efficacy of this practice. Recently I posted about a clinic in Japan that has used a new technique to transfer fat, combined with stem cells to keep it permanent. You can check it out here: http://www.cellport.jp/english/article/ http://www.cellport.jp/english/bust/ Patty katy mclean <thesuddendeparture@...> wrote: , I am also considering having the fat transfers done, and it has been hard to find alot of information about it. Lynn sent me a copy of the risks/ complications involved.. I will try and forward it to you.. or you can search the post archives for it. Mostly, like with any surgery, infection is a risk. Also, the transfers can interfere with mammograms, so you have to get MRI's instead... Let me know if you find any additional information! Thanks, Katy:)vquick04 <vquick04comcast (DOT) net> wrote: Hello ladies, Has anyone here (besides Lynn, I've already talked to Her) had fat transfers done to the breast. I am looking into it and thinking about using Dr. Sydney . He seems to think he can get more fat harvested(and I need a lot) than Dr. Huang. Does anyone know of anyone else who has had this procedure done. I was wondering about the long term affects (i.e. lumpiness, fat absorbing, skin rippling from the harvest site etc.) I spoke with Dr. Blais yesterday about Identifying my implantss for the dow settlement and happen to ask him about the fat transfer. He said absolutely not, that it doesn't work, it causes havoc with mammograms and most of it will go away. Needless to say I was completely "let down". I am wondering how much he really knows about this procedure since he told lme that Dr. Huang doesn't do it, but I know she does, but he wouldn't hear of it! I finally had to just let it go. He also said that it could make my breasts infected due to the proteins and "bugs" (his word) that were left behind and could still be in the pocket where the implants were. I had my silicone implants removed 15 years ago with no replacement. Any information about this subject is greatly appreciated. Be smarter than spam.
