Guest guest
Wow, was that the doctor's idea? I don't think I've heard of anyone ever getting a punch biopsy on the breasts with implants! Has anyone else? I am glad it showed no fungal issues, but I wonder what was the allergic reaction they could identify? When they did the punch biopsy, I am assuming that they only tested tissue that was outside the breast implant, correct? So, if that is the case, I would think that there is still a chance that there could be fungus inside of the implant, or any of a number of other organisms. You won't know that until they actually can test the fluid inside of the implant. Very, very few of us have been able to fully and completely identify what was causing our symptoms down to the specifics. Those of us who have had our implants analyzed have been given names of organisms that have been found inside the implants, but there could still be other things that have caused our systemic reaction....heavy metals, the silicone itself, sudden allergies to other environmental or dietary factors as a result of reduced organ efficiency (specifically the liver), toxic overload, etc, etc, etc. You can see why it is hard for us to win in court....nothing has been glaringly obvious as to what makes us sick. It can be a domino effect of various things, of which the implants are the impetus to knock down the first one. The human body is so complex, the immune system so involved. I had my implants removed underneath my breasts and it was done en bloc, so I do have larger scars underneath my breasts than the ones I got from implantation, but I also had a lift as well.. To those who have flawless skin to begin with, those scars can be noticeable, especially if your breasts do not hang down enough to cover those scars. In time those scars will fade so much that you will hardly see them. And if you get a very skilled plastic surgeon, he can make sure those scars are as minimal as they can be, and still do the explant right. There is really no reason that they can't use the original incision in your nipple and still do an en bloc, as I would think they would sterilize the whole area before doing any cutting, but I am no medical expert. How many other women on the group have had removal with a rash on their breasts, anyone? , these are hard lessons to learn, aren't they! I hated going through this as much as anyone. But you will get past it all, and you will get your life back, I am quite confident that your future is brighter! Guest guest
I've noticed on the pro-implant sites that people quite often post that they've suddenly got a rash, either on their breasts, or other places on their bodies. Some report itching all over their bodies, and I'm sure part of them is wondering " is it the implants? " , but another part is trying to rationalize it away. That's what I tried to do when I first got sick, and that's what everyone around me tried to do as well. I'm trying to think up a way of helping those pre-implant folks, but as someone suggested, often they're in the state of mind where they don't want to hear of problems like ours, because they've worked themselves up to the thought of having larger breasts, and that seems like a pretty powerful thing. I know I had concerns when I read the pamphlet from the doctor's office, saying that some women reported auto-immune disease but it was never proven (and now that I'm on the sick end of the whole mess I know why it's never been proven, because it's never been investigated correctly - if at all). It worried me and it delayed my implant surgery slightly, but unfortunately it didn't delay it forever, and I relied on sites like implantinfo.com to tell me if women were getting sick or not (now I know better). Actually I am going to be participating in something that hopefully will help pre-implant as well as post- implant folks, but I will give you more details about that in a few weeks. Guest guest
. . . I think you can find photos of explanted women on www.explantation.com . . . Most women report that their explant was a breeze, compared to their implant surgery. You will look just fine if you have a good doctor. If a doctor tells you you will be deformed, consider that a testament to his/her own skill and RUN! You have so much to look forward to! . . . Exchanging our health for bigger boobs is insane! I would leave it up the surgeon you select to decide where to make the incision. There are at least four different incision options. The doctor will take your concerns into consideration and do everything to give you the best outcome possible. The key is finding a plastic surgeon who you can trust.
