Guest guest
, You may see some benefits from cutting back on vitamins, as you let your body take a rest from them. That was my experience. The Maker's Diet is a great book....the general idea is that you eat foods that God originally gave us in their most natural, unprocessed state and get a healthy dose of fermented foods every day to help populate the gut with beneficial bacteria. You can learn to make yogurt at home and eat it every day for health! Are you able to find unpasteurized milk? I have not seen that, but yes, that is basically what raw milk is. There are many frantic people out there who will tell you that drinking raw milk or eating raw eggs is a Baaaaaaaadd thing, but I can testify that I have been drinking raw milk products for close to 2 years now and I have not suffered a bit for it. Dr. Mercola suggests eating organic eggs raw, and I eat them both raw and cooked. I love eggs, actually. I used to react to them in a fairly negative way, and I no longer do, so I am very happy about that. I cook them lightly--leaving the yolks runny, but the whites fully cooked, or else use them raw in smoothies. Here's Dr. Mercola's recommendations on eating eggs: http://www.mercola.com/2005/feb/9/raw_eggs.htm Patty > > I probably right I am going to try to cut down on the vitamins and > supplements and herbs? Guest guest
Hi , It is possible for you to take toxic levels of vitamins and minerals. Since we don't know what you are taking, it's hard to know if you are taking too much of any one supplement. You need to feed your body to keep it healthy and to provide nourishment for it to heal. Malnutrition in itself will make you sick. Eating healthy can be very basic, eat 5 or 6 small meals per day. Be sure to include protein, a good carb and roughage at every meal. For example, you can have a chicken breast, a vegetable and brown rice for a meal. The Maker's Diet will be really helpful! Guest guest
, Please don't stress over what to eat. . . If you will concentrate on eating healthy foods you should do OK. . . If you prepare it yourself from whole ingredients AND if it contains NO sugar, no white flour, white rice, you're probably in pretty good shape. Do go easy on white potatoes. Sweet potatoes are good though. There are lot of things you can eat! . . . You also need fat in your diet! Just not too much! If this is a drastic diet change, consider taking it a step at a time. Trying to change ones eating habits overnight usually dooms a diet change. It's better to find new foods you like and gradually make the shift. We're talking about a lifetime change. You will want to enjoy eating and not feel deprived. If there's one big change that will make a difference, it would be eliminating sugar. That will be the hardest because your body may be addicted to it! The Maker's Diet is more than a book of recipes. It will help you understand what your body needs. Guest guest
Hi , One other thing, Rogene mentioned that you need fat in your diet, she is referring to healthy fats like olive oil, nuts and avocados, not unhealthy fats.
