Dr. Feng is my doctor, too. I live in New Jersey and will be driving

seven hours to have an explant. It's worth it to me to have it done

right.

I'm going to look into those doctors you all have been telling me

about. I have an appointment in Bethesda on 11/2. I'm going to see

how I feel with the doctors there and how they react to what I want

done. I at least know there it will all be covered under my

insurance. If I go outside somewhere I might have to pay out of

pocket. I did have a couple other questions before I see the doctor.

First I have heard a lot about " en bloc " and making sure to

everything is cleaned out. My big problem right now is that my

implant is behind the muscle. Will that be harder to get everything

out of there in one piece? If the doctor can't get it out in one

piece will it hurt me to have the implant taken out and then the

doctor can clean the scar tissue out? I just don't know enough about

this and if I want the doctor to do it right and my way then I need

to know what way I want it done! Also I have a really bad rash so my

nipples are almost untouchable. That is where my first scar is but

if the rash is to bad to go back through the nipple would it hurt to

just have it taken out from under my breast? My last doctor didn't

want to cut over the rash because of bacteria and it would have a

bigger chance of getting infected that way. My rash is not going to

go away or get better until I get these out so there is no way I can

wait it out. I have to have the operation with the rash just like it

is. I do have to say that having a head to toe rash for just over 10

month is driving me crazy! That is just one of the many unpleasent

signs I have that something in my baody is just not right. The other

problem is that my nipples are not very large so I'm thinking taking

the implant and scar tissue out through that little cut might not

work very well even if the doctor wants to cut over the rash! I just

wanted some outside opinion of the removal. Now the weight issue

I've been reading about..... Is there hope that after the implants

come out I'll be able to get rid of some weight? Over the past 10

months I've added about 20 pounds. No matter what I do it won't come

off. I've never been over weight or even chunky but lately with the

medication I think about a salad and I gain a pound. HELP!!!

Thanks a Bunch!

Mine are under the muscle, it doesn't sound like it's a problem

removing them en bloc if they're under the muscle. I think the

reason behind en bloc is to keep anything that's contained in the

area surrounding the implant (in between the implant and the capsule)

from being spilled into the body. From what I've learned on this

site, the thyroid is often impacted by implants - so that could

explain the weight gain you've experienced. In my case, it's made me

lose weight. I notice on the pro-implant sites that women are

constantly complaining of weight gain after implants, but of course

on the pro-implant sites they liken it to anesthesia, or getting

older, or something, but it seems to be a common theme among those

with implants.
