Any steroid (and Isocort contains steroids) can cause weight gain if

taken in too high amounts too long. In the amounts we use taken to

replace our own Cortisol that is lacking it will NOT cause weight gain

and may even help with weight loss. When I first went form 20MG a day HC

to 30MG a day I dropped 20 pounds in two weeks!

Thanks. That's good to know. I was just curious. I was also

wondering if Isocort does not put how much cortisol on the bottle

how do we know it's 2.5 mg?

Isocort caused me to put on 3 kg in a short space of time, but I guess

I needed it, as I was the hypoadrenal, very thin type. It gave me

indigestion and grumbly guts initially. I read somewhere that the

cortisol increases stomach acid, and thereby improves digestion and

absorption, so this could explain the weight gain. I suppose it was a

good thing in my case, but I'm annoyed I can't get my jeans on!

Oh no, I hope I don't gain weight. I do not need to put on weight

That's good news, Pamela! How much and when do you take your

Isocort, may I ask?
