Guest guest
Hi,I'm relatively new to this list and to ACT. I am currently using the ACT anxiety workbook by Forsyth & Eifert (my first experience with ACT). The workbook is giving me some hope, as nothing has helped previously. My current situation is that my panic disorder has morphed into agoraphobia (I've had sporadic episodes in the past, but now am terrified to leave my house, even with a companion). I've been unable to drive to work or even the grocery store without having a panic attack so I turn around and go home. Now, I don't even try anymore. I know that the more I avoid, the harder it is to drive anywhere, but that knowledge isn't helping me at present. I'm finishing up part 1 of the workbook and am eager to read through it even though the authors caution against going too fast. A chapter a week doesn't seem sufficient since my job is in jeopardy.Anyhow, I'd love to hear from others who have successfully worked through agoraphobia, although I guess having some support would be nice as well. Thanks for reading.~ lisa
