Guest guest
>> Who should not take prednisolone? • Do not take prednisolone if you have a serious bacterial, viral, or fungal infection. Prednisolone weakens the body's immune response and thus its ability to fight infection. --<< The problem with this is it is talking about pharmacological doses of Pred, NOT physiological doses. Guest guest
Another thing about Pred.. I do not feel it should be tried till HC has been found to be too weak. I think most people will do fine on HC if they take enough of it. People with full blown 's can do fine on HC for the most part, though some have to take Florinef as well. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

I think most people will do fine on HC if Hi Val Is this the case that this site and others will make comments like this without pointing out that they are talking about high doses? This is very irresponsible and I will write and tell them so. I have hepatitis C, which as you know is life-threatening, so I got quite a fright to read that Pred. should not be taken if there is a serious infection. Candida is one thing and that is bad enough! I started or rather changed from h.c to Pred. because of severe memory problems. I simply could not remember to take the h/c every few hours and would then have horrible dips. It was also suggested to me that Pred. would be inder on my liver. Mo
Guest guest
Mo if you look for websites with side effects of Pred you will find THOUSANDS just like that one with all the warnings and bells flashing, BUT read deep into these sites as I have not found any that are talking about physiological replacement dosages. Sorry for your memory problems. I know how that feels! I have my daily pill minder that I fill four slots per day for every day of the week, just for this purpose. I still believe pred won;t cause problems as long as you stay under 7.5MG a day which would equal 30MG a day of HC. It is still a physiological dosage. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Hi I ams ure you are right and I am just panicking unnecessarily. I have written to them and asked for clarification and, believe you me, they will get the sharp end of my tongue if they write back and say, yes, they meant pharma doses because if that it what they mean then that is what they should say and not go around alarming people. I am sure you agree but, as you say, they are all 'at it' out there it seems. Question, lol: how do you remember to go to your pill box 4 times a day at the right times??? Guest guest
>>how do you remember to go to your pill box 4 times a day << It is UNDER my nose at all times! When I am home it is on my computer desk, when I am at work it is beside my keyboard there. At work I always real=member as th lest bit of stress when my HC is due and my hands shake and I can;t scissor a dog with my hands shaking! At home usually I notice I have a bit of pressure in my head, this will happen within an hour of a missed dose and serves as a reminder. Course I have been taking this 4 times a day for over a year now and before that I took my thyroid four times a day for the last 7 years so I am pretty much in the habit by now! LOL Thanks Perhaps I am underestimating myself, my memory might be a bit better than it was time time last year though it seems to be the symptom that progresses the least. Had a look at the manufaturer, Pfizer's, info on Pred. and also the h/c manufacturer and the seem to be saying that their meds. should not be taken even at physiological doses by people with systemic infections so I am really thinking that it was the Pred. that allowed this candida of mine to flourish. Mo ps what I would like to do is get off Pred and h.c though SLOWLY like you say. I am wondering if anyone has info on increasing glandulars to aid the withdrawal from the steroids? Maybe increasing them and also I read that Pred. can affect the sodium/potassium balance, I would really like to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Peatfield, Jeffries and others all say this same thing. If the thyroid condition is not corrected, the adrenals will remain weak and cannot heal properly. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Hi Val I am beginning to 'get it' that I must stay on h/c (when I switch over) until I get to my optimum Armour dose. The candida I will continue to keep in check with probiotics, candida removal herbs etc and a healthy diet. Great side enefit here is that I am losing weight which I really need to do as I am obese, very obese in fact. I have just spoken to the manufacturers of h/c and asked them to clarify their statement that h/c is contraindicated where there is existing severe infection i.e. fungal. They were unable to say offhand. I pointed out that there is a lot of information 'out there' to the same effect and that people experienced in advising adrenal patients tell me that it really is only parma doses that are likely to be problematic, generally speaking. They have kindly offered to do a fuller search and wil get back to me. Mo
Guest guest
That's what I'm doing. I've started taking glandulars along with the Isocort, and then I hope to start backing off on the Isocort eventually. I tried backing off a few weeks ago, and it wasn't working AT ALL! May I ask how much Isocort you are taking and whether you started the glandulars first. Are they Nutri adrenal extras? How many do you take? And what happened when you tried to back off? How much of a reduction did you attempt and what happened? Questions, questions, questions! Thanks. Mo
