Guest guest
Sis I am not sure exactly what is going on because I simply have not had time to go through all the messages. Just thought i would share my experience with the whole implant thing after surgery with Dr. Feng, of course that was years ago, maybe her policy has changed since then. I had my implants and capsules automatically sent to a lab that examined them just for your basic things, that report was negative. After that they asked me what I wanted to do with them, explaining that I did not have to make a decision at that point and that I could just leave them there at her office that way they would be sterile and in a proper packaging room, until the time I was ready to do something with them, since I felt taking them would compromise them and at that time I was still too ill and broke to do anything I left them with her capable office until about 2 years later when I was married and in better financial situation. Then I called them and for a fee of back then at least, $80.00 they shipped them to Dr. Blais in Canada where he was able to do the tests to see what was in them and if they were defective. I figured this way just in case there was to be any legal wrangling they could not say that I took them, and in some way contaminated them. I never even saw them, frankly I didnt want to anyhow. That was in my opinion the best option for me, since I really did not feel I would be able to properly handle them. At any rate Dr Blais did the intitial testing and said that one of them as we all know, had it's usual defective valve. He said as implants go mine were not the worse bacteria filled things he had ever seen, but they did have some stuff growing in them. Also they were bloody inside. Which is wierd ya know. Anyhow I never got the full report because it was pricey and since I was already better I just figured that was the end of it. So if you don't want to do all that shipping yourself you may want to ask them about doing it for you. The money seemed small to me to not have to work the whole issue out myself but, of course everyone is different. I hope that it works out for you, whatever you end up doing ok! Hey write anytime. Guest guest
Thanks . I've been running around so much this week I didn't get a chance to call Dr. Feng's office and specifically ask them if they would ship them to Dr. Blais for me (for a fee), and I definitely think you've got a good point - if they ship them then no one can question it, and plus I can just go back to the hotel and relax. I'm in the final countdown now!! Guest guest
Does anyone know if letting your implants sit, even in a doctor's office, would compromise them in any way? I'm wondering if time is important in getting them analyzed? Kenda > Sis I am not sure exactly what is going on because I simply have not > had time to go through all the messages. Guest guest
I plan on asking them to send them right away, because in my case if I don't do it right away, I might never do it. Plus, it's a good point that changes could take place over time, and perhaps that could be used to the advantage of the manufacturers in the event the lid ever blows off this issue. Guest guest
My thoughts exactly. If the manufacturers can find a loophole, they'll use it to their advantage. Guest guest
Smart move, Sis! If, however, you are even considering litigation, might have a point... You may want to ask Dr. Feng if she could send them (for a fee, of course) to wherever you want them sent. You may want to keep a chain of custody -- eg a tracking of every place they have been, and the condition they have been in. > > >>>>> > > >>>>> I got to the point where when one dr. tried to put me on an > > >>>>> antidepressant to keep my muscles from spasms (Yeah right), I > > >> said to > > >>>>> him, " I'm NOT depressed, but I'm starting to get depressed > > >> listening > > >>>> to > > >>>>> all of you blow off the possibility that it could all be > coming > > >> from > > >>>> my > > >>>>> impklants.
