Guest guest
Hi guys, This week has been totally interesting around my workouts. We have become flexible. I didn't have time to get my cardio in on Saturday *sigh...long story* So Sunday a 9 p.m.. I said, I am going to get this in so I got on the lifecycle and road for 24 minutes, I could only do level 2 and it was really hard....but I did it! This is where a 10 for one person isn't a 10 for another (LOL) I also decided that I was going to do the HIIT program instead of walking. This has left me between a rock and a hard place as I need to be walking to get ready for the Komen 3Day in Chicago August 26-29.... Yesterday I met with my dr. and I have lost 4lbs.on her scale and she was quite pleased. I also lost 9lbs of body fat since beginning the BFL program! Hooray. She is concerned about me lifting since I had the lymph node dissection, she is concerned about lymphdemia. So I need to watch for swelling in my left arm. That is one of the things that stinks about bc. You want to do things that are healthy and keep being reminded of what happened. So, I will keep watch. So far, no problems. I think the fact that I didn't start out lifting 25 lbs...I started with 2.5...and you gradually increase will make a big difference. She also told me to quit the HIIT and walk every day. She said I need to be able to walk 10 miles in one day within the next week to get ready for this event. So, I guess I will be walking. I can wear my heart rate monitor to make sure my heart rate is in the fat burning zone. In the chemo room the nurse asked if I had lost weight, she said I was looking really good and to keep it up! This is amazing since I have only been on the program 3 weeks and you know how I blew the diet last week! This week I am being more intentional around what I am putting in my mouth. Yesterday I had a really rough time after chemo. I just wanted to eat, eat, eat sweets. On of the premeds I am on is Decadron and that is a steroid. It works great to combat the side effects of Taxol, but it also is an appetite stimulant. I combated this " frenzy " by eating 2 Tbls. raisins, 9 choc chips, and 1 square of Frango mint. I think I did pretty well....since I had a frozen snickers in the freezer calling my name! I am going through allergy elimination for dairy and it is going quite well. My homeopathic dr. said I could do one scoop of Precision Protein a day, but no myoplex. My new treat is the Chai Tea from the Eating for Life book. I mix it with skim milk. It is a great snack! Total indulgence without the guilt! I hope to get up to more scoops of PP in the future. That would make life a lot simpler! OK folks, On to lifting. Today is legs...tomorrow is upper body...I told you this week was messed up!!!LOL Learn about and order the most researched whole food supplement in the world: Juice Plus+: www.juicepluskaren.com and our program to create healthier kids www.childrensresearch.org Question: What do the following universities, hospitals, and organizations all have in common?
