Guest guest
Lz, Spelt tortialla - isn't that a part of refined wheat and doesn't that count as a type of sugar - simple carbs? Wouldn't that cause a hypoglycemia reaction and hence an adrenal reaction? Robin > > Hello again > > Okay, as you might remember I am having blood sugar problems. Here's another > question. Guest guest
Hi Robin, Yes, it is a carb, but I have eaten this for months and it has never bothered me before. But I have eliminated it for now. My problem is if I go on a higher protein diet I lose weight. I"m already skinny and can't afford to lose anymore Thanks! Guest guest
there is something called reactive hypoglycemia--or so I was told once by a doc. My blood sugar would drop within 20-30 minutes after I ate and cause the shakes, sweating, and nausea. If I'm not mistaken it goes right along with the insulin resistance thing. a Re: Blood Sugar question Lz,Spelt tortialla - isn't that a part of refined wheat and doesn't that count as a type of sugar - simple carbs? Guest guest
LOL I went on a mostly protein and salad diet and once everything calmed down (more than 2 years)I was able to add brown rice, wheat bread and more complex carbs. I still can't eat the white bread and sugars without getting extremely tired a hour after I eat them. Except right now I'm having to be really really careful again because I'm having problems again and I think it all has to do with the adrenals. Didn't you say you didn't need to loose any weight--that you were already skinny and couldn't do the high-protein thing? a RE: Re: Blood Sugar question a, What did you do about it? Guest guest
Yes, I am too skinny .I have just put on a few extra pounds that I have lost due to the anxiety. Well, I can be more careful. I already don't eat sugar and white bread etc. Thanks! Guest guest
If you don't eat alot of carbs or sugar then it should make it easier to control. You just need to remember to eat a healthy snack every couple of hours and that should keep your blood sugar on a level plain and not doing the spike and dip thing. I usually carry around a homemade trailmix mixture of nuts with me( I make sure and get the plain nuts--no salt or additives)--I had gotten to where I could put raisins in the mix, but right now I'm having avoid those too. a RE: Re: Blood Sugar question Yes, I am too skinny .I have just put on a few extra pounds that I have lost due to the anxiety. Guest guest
If you eat grains that are whole it will help or if you eat a lot of fiber, fruits or veggies, with the grain it will slow down the rate at which it raises the blood sugar level. Right now I'm going through a really nasty case of hypoG. This is my second time of trying to get to 4 grains but it knocks me down everytime...headache from hell. Plus I crave sugar soooo bad so I'm going without sugar...withdraws...I feel like a drug addict. Well, I hope it gets better for you.
