Hello everyone,

I am due to have my implants taken out Nov. 7th, and I want to know

if anyone knows how much Dr. Blais charges for implant analysis? Also,

is it typical that the PS has the impalnts sent out to their pathology

lab first? I tried calling Dr. Blais office two weeks ago but haven't

heard from his office.

Hi Carol - I'm having mine out on 11/7, too. I can't answer any of

your questions, although I know my doctor does not send them to any

labs for analysis, but I will definitely be sending mine to Dr. Blais

as well. I know Dr. Kolb sends implants to a lab to be analyzed

(somehow I think she sends hers to Dr. Blais, but I might be

mistaken). I might ask your PS a little more about who analyzes your

implants, what they test for, how they get the fluid from them (do they

just go in through a plug, or do they deflate them?) and if they'd be

returning them to you so that you could have them analyzed as well.

Carol,

I can just tell you what I've read on the group . . .

I've heard hDr. Blais charges as little as $6.00 for a

cursory inspection . . . Then, depending on the level

of study he does and the report he writes, the cost

varies from $250 to about $350 . . .

This is just a rough estimate . . . Dr. Blais is the

only one who can tell you exactly what it will cost.

Ideally, your implants would be shipped to him by the

pathologist, or surgical facility, your plastic

surgeon uses. The pathologist would know how to ship

them. . .all you need to furnish is the address. I

would contact them ahead of time to ensure you have an

understanding with them.

Dr. Blais is very busy. It can take him some time to

get to your implants. However, be patient. He's a good

man, and he will get to them. As I understand it, he

will let you know what the cost will be before he does

the work.
